I had an old dear complain the other day the the twin LEDs on her newly fitted Nova4 where well OTT - the neighbour told her "I wouldn't have them on my house"! Short of changing the lens cover from opal to blue or something, does anyone have any ideas for toning the LEDs down a bit, I was thinking along the lines of spray paint on the back plate? - any tried and tested methods?

Hi all I posted this in what I thought was this forum, but somehow I must have managed to get it onto the old site... Anyway, we have used the Scantronic I-on 16 on a few jobs recently but have always opted for a hard wired SAB. We now have a particularly tricky job to do and we are wondering about going fully wireless, including the 760es bellbox. Does anyone know the pitfalls? What is the maintenance situation? , Andy

As a rule we fit premier vert which come with three year warranty. We returned one to gardiners about a month or so ago which failed on installation. No probs with gardiners they give us a new one. Turn up at install today with kit only to find been given the repaired unit we returned previously (I know its childish but we leave notes in indelible ink on the back plate, in this case "hope its now raining"). Had words with gardiners who said its klaxons new returns policy, except now got one year guarantee as its a repair! Anyone else come accros this? (was so miffed phoned their tech and told them they arnt G3 as per the labels on the box. Explained why, guy said "oh …

Have Chubb changed their bell boxes to Elmdene? Found this on Ebay. If so then are they doing away with Guardall in total?

Ive just had a customer phoned about who has a Belle (take over) installed and the LEDs a "going ten to the dozen". There's nothing in the manual about the LEDs. Anyone know if this is a fault, as I dont fancy going up the ladders in this gale.

Is there any real Chubb engineers(not us ex-initial types) on here that could help me with this bell. I have it powered up and triggering both strobe and sounder, but the tamper teminals are open circuit. The bell rings until the lid is closed so the tamper switch/anti foam and anti drill are all ok. It's not a faulty unit either, because the one on the rear of the property is doing the same thing. It has just a tamper relay inside,so I have linked a 0v to one side, and the return wire to the other side. Any ideas?

Can anyone remember about 10 years ago? I cannot remember but there was a bell box company that sent letters out to every housholder in the UK informing them that their bell boxes could catch fire, they included a pack and a resistor of some sort to place in-line with the sounder. If anyone can remember and wether there is any info of this I would be grateful Dig Deep in your brains

Got a customer with 6 flats for sale, alarms installed by the electricain who has since done a runner, not suprised with the work quality. There are 5 bells on the wall and one missing, as he wants them to all match i need to source the same unit. Not so easy. No picture as that would be too easy, plus i forgot my camera. Vague description: White cover with twin strobe on either side Can be mounted horizontal or vertical Red LED in one end, green in other. Strobe tubes mounted on little PCB s in each lens Cover secured by 1 massive long screw pushing down on tamper microswitch Looks a bit like the intellisense c&k unit but higher profile Could be an update…
