spotted this in the Apple app store, i've often had a need to have an autocad drawing to hand, even if i can't use the orogram . https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/autocad-360/id393149734?mt=8 allows you to open Audcad drawings, add remarks, mods also links to GPS for true position, so seems highly useful.

Hi, not sure if this is the right section, but here goes. Does anyone use tablets i.e. ipad, samsung etc for their operational paperwork, risk assessments, etc? If so do you integrate with alarm master/ cash etc or is it just a stand alone facility to cover the paperwork side. I would like to implement using tablets to save time and lost paperwork, it would be useful to log all the info into a tablet and get the customer to sign it on screen instead of paperwork. Any ideas and feedback would be appreciated?

Ive got a laptop with bluetooth and I can currently connect to my Nokia 6230i and use Texecom Wintex to remote connect the laptop to control panel. Ive also got an XDA11i and can make gprs connections no problem but cannot find a way to use it as modem for remote access to a control panel. Has anyone else managed to do this? or can anyone think of a way. The nokia is my own phone and I have to pay the bill where as the XDA11i is paid for by work. I know I could swap the sims over and use the nokia but its too much hassle every time. Glenn

hi all, i decided to run a 'fake' desaster recovery between my 2 smartphones for the day i drop my regular one or lose/upgrade it. when i swapped from an SPV1000 - SPV2000 i simply copied the data from my SD card backup to my new handset. no drama's as i used to backup all the data to a 1gig card while driving in every day, so as i could restore should i get a crash, within say 20 minutes or so (and it happened several times) . WM5 has done away with this handy B/R feature or i can't find it, i assume because WM5 is meant to be 'perminant memmory' (as if we would ever trust that idea from the likes of MS ) so 'we' don't 'need' it anymore, just like we don't lose o…

Proceed with Caution, Messing with the REGISTRY can seriously mess up your mobile device, so if your unsure about anything do not proceed. All below have been completed on my iPAQ HX4700, the speed increases gained have totally justified the effort. DISCLAIMER: I have not discovered or found any of these solutions myself, I merely grabbed them together from several pocket-PC-related forums. I thought it would be useful to have a complete roundup. In WM5 registry changes do not get committed to storage till after a while. This is keep devices from getting even more sluggish. If you soft reset using the reset button it does not commit recent changes at all. If you reset …

A few PPC2003 themes for anyone interested. These may also work with WM5. Just extract the ZIP file and copy the "theme.TSK" file to your PPC windows directory and select it from the Start/Settings/Today screen by choosing it from the dropdown box. Babe.zip balloons.zip iceberg.zip splash.zip These themes were created by myself, so need to worry about me giving out any warez. Have Fun.

I have asked my NSI inspector to check his facts on the validity of Risk Assessment. I believe our industry has gone off at a tangent to what is actually required. All Contractors are required to carry out a Risk Assessment as in Health and safety and method statements in compliance with Construction Design and Management. I have seen many unrelated Bu11shit forms submitted to this end and as I am a supporter of my particular inspectorate I am prepared to tow the official line. I have put together a DRAFT PDA version which will merge into our standard forms suite and as I know many of you have trialled or produced similar PDA documents your feed back would be appreciated.…
