Great forum... Hi Im relatively new to forums and CCTV but talk to me about computers and I may be of assistance. As a computer company we are involved in network and AV installation, we've only done a couple of camera installs (of which I wasn't involved) but would like to get more involved in computer based security (PCI DVR's). I have also recently had my house broken into and my car keys and car stolen. This has prompted me to kick start our CCTV offerings and using my house as a testing ground for computer based CCTV. For the last 2 weeks I have been trying to assess camera's and DVR's from information on the internet - but it is a minefield if you do not know exa…

Hello to all that read this, at least 8 years have passed since I retired, so many people I met over the 42 years I spent in the undustry and I only got a chance to say goodbye and thank you to so few. So thank you for your friendship and help and support over the years. I used to tote around a Psion Organiser with over 900 names and adresses etc on it and when I retired I put it in a corner draw in my dest at home and forgot it what with moving from the north to the south, one day I remembered it! and as it had a volotile memory when I switched it on it went and died on me with one last gasp all the memory went and that was it, unable to get in touch with people I we…

New to the whole alarm thing as this is th first house I have had with one. Its an Optima XM. Within a month I had to have it serviced as I added new windows , so exchanged standard PIDs with motion sensor. Having problems now with snagged cables under the floor so guess I have to start ripping up floors. Living and working in Leeds, into my guitar and a bit of sport climbing, other than that my life seems to be governerd by DIY and my wife / girlfriend / partner, whatever I am meant to call her. NOt married, but may as well be! all
