Introduce Yourself

Hi my name is Staszek and I'm from Poland. I am in England from 6 months. Before I was working in Poland as installer(intruder alarm systems,CCTV,access control and a little of fire alarm systems)for nearly 7 years. I think then all my polish documents are worth nothing in here and I want to ask You to tel me what ind of documens, licenses or else You are using in England and how to get them.As far as I know it would be hard for me to find a job as insaller n approved company because I'm here for only 6 months.But what about unapproved companies?Can anyone tell me where can I find all those informations?

Evening all. My name is David Rooney (I'm more akin to Mickey than Wayne) and I am MD at CTA Fire (CTA Maintenance Ltd). Have been specialising in fire detection design/install and service for nearly 20 years, and in particular, radio fire detection systems (EMS). We are BAFE SP201 approved, and do not as a rule get involved with security systems, but generally pass enquiries on to specialist companies. We are looking to get into CCTV next year and will be looking for advice and training after Christmas. Dave

Hi I'm John Burger an electrical contractor with about 30 years experience. I also install all electronic and electrical equipment and cabling within a building giving the customer the benefit of dealing with one contractor. My policy has been to, where possible, install every cable in a building allowing for a consistent style if visible and best practice for routing and separation if concealed. As a result my domestic jobs never have any visible cables and all controls are located in one place allowing for easy interlinking, modification and maintenance. Anyway this site seems to be one of the most proffessional and useful I have seen, many thanks to Dave.

Hi evryone from a newe diyer. I've installed a couple of systems and both running ok.UNTIL now I have a veritas 8 panel with I don't know what bell box as it was with the old alarm system.Everything has been great for a couple of months and now the alarm went off the other day and rearmed itself.when the system was disarmed the strobe remained on so I reset the system fully but I cannot get the strobe to turn off.It goes off when on battery power only but as once you apply mains power the strobe starts again.I've rebooted the system and still the same.Has any one got any ideas or come across this before.

I'm a new member and am looking for an intensive alarm installation traing course and would also like to gain some work experience. Is there anybody who would be prepared to let me help you for free for a week?

Hi All I just found this site while searching for Fire Alarm Panels Hello to everyone, I have 18 years in the industry, and now run my own very small (2 people) NSI Systems Silver Company. We use Guardall Panels, Texecom Sensors & Sounders. Also install Access Control using PAC, Paxton, Bewator and BPT equipment Its a great forum Neil

hey all just signed up. been in industry for about 5 years done a bit of everything, now mostly using guardall intruder panels and morley fire panels. Any body with experience of either??

Why is it you only ever find great sites like this when all else fails and in desperation at 12:30 in the morning you begin trolling through websites for the Holy Grail!! Involved in the Fire & Security business for the past 11 years. Worked for Protec and a much smaller local firm which is a Notifier ESD. Currently self employed doing all manner of things !!!! More of a Fire than a Security background although have dealt with both.
