These cameras are being pushed, but if you watch the news they are in all the tube stations in China. Remember you have to go through the metal detector put your back through the Xray now they have thermal cameras to take out the hot people.

I see the logic in it, stopping people with temperatures mixing with people without temperatures. The problem is not everyone who is positive has a temperature, some have no or very little symptoms. That said its better than no checks

Personally theyre not a bad idea if used on a manned vehicle checkpoint or manned public entrance but if theyre just scattered around a building then its only reliant on someone monitoring it, also by the time that person has got to the location of the camera how many people have they potentially infected? What I do like is the idea of the touchless PTE buttons, ive started only installing these and they work a treat.

Fully agree with above, you do have to consider the asymptomatic problem too, but it may lower the risk.

I could see a change in the design of some systems, maybe considering REX PIRs and more contact free interactions with all devices used by multiple people.

Quoted for a couple of these yesterday.  Has anyone supplied and fitted the calibration box for them, it’s about £1.5k

I thought they calibrated from factory and you only need the calibration for when they get used over time ?
