November 24, 201510 yr comment_435579 Did a takeover years ago that had Racal detectors all wired in 16 core, extra 4 colours were stripey on white, and it wasn't phone cable. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/39406-single-8-core-cable-feeding-two-detectors/page/2/#findComment-435579 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 November 26, 201510 yr comment_435761 ahh, bit of wood in the way there. I have rounded off my fair share of terminal screwdrivers while cutting a little channel into the ceiling, slotting the cable in and filling in... November 26, 201510 yr comment_435762 Was in an 80s new build finishing off today, started Tuesday and there was the remains of an old 2 zone type key system but nothing worth reusing cable wise, redone from scratch. Lol at them bashing multiple holes with a hammer for mains from roof until they worked out where the joist was. Tiny ceiling so not visible without ladder and shelving removed. A now blunt 4.5mm HSS bit makes a tidy job of that if I need to. November 27, 201510 yr comment_435798 I think its mad when just one core is used for a zone and all the cores are accounted for with power and all the zones using 1 core. its nice and tidy at the panel end very few cables don't get me wrong but it isn't good when things start going wrong with the system.
