Qualifications are only any good to say you have an understanding, doesn't make you any good at any job, even if the qualification is supposed to be relevant.

I have been told that bs en 16763 is being voted for and in the next 18 months. This standard says that all personnel working in the security industry must hold recognised qualification.

Has anyone heard about this ?

Yes not sure on the doc but its on its way. I'll be pushing for it on tc. So will most of the group

Will a city & guilds knowledge of security and emergency system 1852 or will I need to do the 1853 ?

i only have 1851 and expect it to not be ok, i dont know yet its too early. Ade knows more than me it hasnt really reached our comittee yet, it just been discussed
