June 21, 201312 yr comment_328712 Back yard is about 3m by 6m. The 3m side has a double french window and the 6m house side has two dual sliding sash windows. Opposite the 3m side is a 6ft tall wall about 5m long. I am now wondering if I could protect the yard from intruders with either an outdoor PIR (say Takex MS-12FE) or maybe a beam (say Takex PB-30TK). Which do people think would be most suitable (if any)?. Thanks. bee Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34810-back-yard/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 June 21, 201312 yr comment_328717 yes a beam would be less supsepable to fa's imo, but, as above it depends on what you want to achieve when the detection trips. June 21, 201312 yr Author comment_328727 Thanks. I was planning on tripping a full alarm if it is set. Bad idea?. Access to the area involves unlocking a door or going over a 6 foot wall, nobody's going to accidentally wander in. Cats do get in occasionally... bee Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34810-back-yard/#findComment-328727 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 June 21, 201312 yr comment_328757 Beams but full alarm is a bad idea imo, better with a local sounder and some lighting perhaps for 5 mins? Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
