They are pretty tight when fitted together, have to admit, but as are most now.

A drain hole?

Asking for trouble IMHO with anything for ingress of insects.  Then again you say 2  yrs + now.

 

How many battery changes needed?  As they will be Hot/Cold and exposed to rapid temp drops.
