Been asked to source a kindle type of device for an old dear to take into hospital which will read books & play music ect,,,

Not that I know anything on the subject , but was thinking Android ?

Any of you guys got a better idea than me?

I have an Android tab I can use my phone as a wifi hot spot for it and watch BBC Iplayer, check my CCTV, control my telly, control my hifi, watch a movie from a usb stick etc, its a briliant little thing so much so I purchased two more £59 ea from CPC. Im sure the bigger ones are much better the cheap one does everything I need

Would no be without my iPad. Well recommended.

Yeah as Peter said Android tab would be the way forward no price comparison with an ipad which would prob be overkill for an 'old dear' - kindle app is free and buying books is almost too easy.

You can pick up an ipad 1 dirt cheap used now and its still a good device, nice and easy to use. I bought the mrs a cheap android tablet to begin with and it wasn't that great, but she loves the ipad.

looked on ebuyer & I reckon a 9.7" Scroll Extreme Tablet PC which has andorid 4 & good reviews will easily spank the job, £180.00 its gift which will probably come back to me so I might as well get them something I like?

I'll find a case & some ear phones & get it set up.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

My Kindle also plays music and audio books.

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.

If its for reading e paper is far better than lcd etc. Also easy to use, I'd go for a base kindle

As above for reflection, easy of reading etc i would also say Kindle, and when she pops her clogs you can sell it and put the money towards a tablet.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
