Bells, To Be Backlit Or Not To Be Backlit ?

Does a backlit bellbox on residential need planning permission?

from what i know yes it does

any back-lit 'sign' needs planning. I assume thats why the risco equivalent id 'front' lit?

but id still agree that angus's looked good

Do no logo = not a sign = no planning permission needed?
