  1. feel free to evaluate anyones website and post comments on how it maybe improved. rather be inclusive than exclusive, thanks for the comments made on the other thread.
  2. by the way the bank has agreed that there representive is out of order and its being investigated, which usually means nothing but it will do as its been acknowledged.
  3. changes suggested have been made and done. no doubt you have things to say, thread being moved, can delete thread for me and discuss elswhere.
  4. the manuals link okay, now I know you have had a good look at the site. anything else, I will remove it in a minute.
  5. @norman I agree so come on hit me with it my name username .co.uk you could search oldham alarms in google think its half way up page two at present, should be on page 1 by end of the month when some things are changed or thats the plan at least.
  6. I am more than happy to take constructive comments, but I dont do subtle so well as you have probably guessed by now. Thanks for having a look and taking the time to ridcoule, sorry to pass constructive comment.
  7. lol there are things that need to be done granted, address for one and the number for another (due to be changed end of the month), other than that please enlighten me as I can change some things relatively quickly. It doesnt use cookies so dont need a cookie policy. I rather you be honest, I was going to say brutally honest but that may not be a wise move. As I can imagine you can be very brutal if you want to be.
  8. Some nice places to stay near TAVCOM, got a a great offer on laterooms last time I was there.
  9. hmm well not sure what your all on about but it sounded nice so is everyone okay....lol
  10. lol no thats not my long term aim, for long term stability selling as cheaply as possible will only put you out of business or kill you. I want to offer affordable quality installations. Fully aware of those that lead the customer blind and charge excessively and leave there customers stranded with a half baked system after taking the money and running, thats not what I am about and from what I have read in this forum it is not what everyone on here is about either. Have to try and be competative with the current people in our area (I certainly don't appear the cheapest against everyone I have checked for all services), have to say though its not clear what some of them are actually offering for the money from there advertising and I can't exactly get clarification by getting quotes.
  11. lol thought I had applied for trade on here, but not to worry. I have looked at the pricing structures and the documents a few minutes ago, theres a hell of lot for me to do get the systems in place to meet there requirements. x for this, minimum of this, starts to shoot prices up as you have to recover these extra costs. Like all professional bodies they often offer very little but are the essential part of certaiin operations So its going to cost over £1k a year minimum, without additional site visits
  12. I know what you mean about target markets
  13. this thread is being lost with the fairies. I will contact ssaib and nsi again and see if they will be a little less coy about the sign up and whats involved.
  14. lol I suppose its true that many are ignored if they aren't monitored? Although I do know the police will attend an unmointored system, if certain conditions are met, but relies on having neighbours that look out for you, which unfortunatley these days isnt as common as it used to be, As for the costs involved in getting approval, I am guessing its based on size and or level if nsi route and who is going to want to buddy a new buisness thats competing, have to find someone that can service your area but isnt in direct competition? I remember when some kids I knew broke in the computer room, the police turned up and they had long gone with the computers of the age, lets just say they got caught because of what they were off loading, not because the police responded. Get get approval just yet not been in business long enough.
  15. Bells only keeps things simple and with mointoring yes things are restricted on what should or shouldnt be done, then what grade, cant see many domestics wanting true grade 3 install and thats not needed to be monitiore anyway. I dont see any real benefit to monitoring for domestic customers in general terms. I am sure you can enlighten me on the benefits, unless an insurer has specifically requested it to be monitored and refused insurance if it isn't, the end user doesnt recoup the cost of monitoring/ maintenance contracts in savings on there insurance reduction. The costs outweight the savings, and the police would attend if your neighbour rings up say the alarm has gone off at x and I heard someone trying to break in anyway. The police wont respond to monitored systems unless you ssaib or nsi, and apparently I cant do that for at least 6 months and need extra engineers or a buddy company. Becoming nsi and ssaib just increases the cost, it should maintain standards but even some installers question the inspectorates decisions, so i read
  16. I only have one thing between my legs and it needs as much room as it can get......
  17. lol wouldn't say new or wet behind the ears, just spent so much time in an office and it aint the same installing day in day out as doing favours for family and friends. Not to mention how much weight gain I got for years in the office but thats another thing altogether. So yes I have been out swapping family and friends systems over to start my advertising ready for te grand old launch in about a months time.
  18. lol nothing to share, nothing went wrong ish at all, just realised I wasnt as well equiped as I need to be. Its early days and you live and learn and get better prepared. Up and down ladders twenty times as I cant carry everything I need up there, no where to store it when i am up there. Wrong size screws, way too big for what was needed. Forgotten how dam heavy cordless drills/ drivers are with 4Ah batteries, made short work through that brick though, and screwing and unscrewing and rescrewing with the right screws. Need to make sure I have the right screws for the right job and get them arranged all pretty like in the vans shelving.
  19. lol no just some bells, and some bell covers, wouldnt trust me with a scapel thats for sure
  20. l am a great believer in talking to a customer and understanding what they require, I am not in the habit of forcing them with a gun at there head, although i have heard that its a prefered sales technique by some. Given todays performance on the job, I realised I am missing a few things from my fittings list and the odd tool, so going to get them sorted to make my life easier asap. It was bloody hot out there today, but thats better than rain.
  21. well er the post has cleared that up, have to go and change some bell covers today, get some of my screen prints up.
  22. I know what you mean about how you can end up coming off, but the guy has gone way too far, and it has to be addressed, people need to be held accountable and as a strong person, I will not accept bullying selling tactics from anyone. Others may get fleeced if hes not held to account for his potentially illegal practices (to be determined by FCA), the personal stuff he said afterwards I am not repeating on here but that goes well beyond his scope of trying to sell me products that I don't want and very much a sackable offence, if not a final warning at the very least if his previous activities werent bad enough. Somethings you can say, he was only trying to do his job and can let drop and others you just can't, for the greater good. what is appendix prior? Is it your appendix, been done berfore it bursts or its the bit prior to the appendix (no doctor am I), or you have never heard of appendix? Well its a good job its been dealt with can very painful apparently.
  23. hope shes okay and has full recovery, and yes agreed if I had something like that going on in my life I probably wouldnt even have been at the bank.
