  1. Hi Bagpuss Interesting line of work. I think I worked on some of those old panels too! Can't beat a box full of relays and LEDs Welcome. Wayne.
  2. I've usually steered away from wireless equipment but that's prob the old school in me. A while back I installed a pyronics Enforcer wireless system and aside from some regular false alarms (blamed on other wireless equipment in the locality) it seemed ok. Recently I have seen the Texecon Ricochet system with some handy software showing signal strength of devices. Just wondering on thoughts for wireless systems in residential buildings?
  3. Thanks Peter. Much appreciated. I'll have to start posting !
  4. New here so I thought I would add my view. I was always taught that staples can corrode and rust over time and then start to damage the cabling. For that reason I've hardly used them. There is a time and place for everything though and my staple gun is still in my tool box
  5. Hi everyone, I've been in the Industry for over 21 years now and spent the last few working in Security overseas. Now I'm back home and wondering whether to look for work with one of the Nationals or to go back subbying again. My old subby buddy has moved away so will need to find another again if I went down that road. How is everyone finding work at the moment. Particularly around the West Midlands? Busy enough? This seems like a great site with a wealth of info. I've heaps of experience from Install to Project Management. If any of my old buddies from Shorrock, Modern or ADT are around, drop me a line
