  1. Why would he want any of that? The fire panel and equipment are just that. The way I read the op question is he/she just wants the existing intruder equipment to ring someone when the fire alarm panel has been activated. The fire panel should have its own bells. Cassss, we could do with some more info!
  2. They are just 2xNC contacts and show in the panel as 1-Zone. You need to set the jumper on the panel/wireless expander if you want the second NC terminals to act as tamper or not (It affects all your wireless contacts).
  3. 134.2 Initial verification 134.2.1 During erection and on completion of an installation or an addition or alteration to an installation, and before it is put into service, appropriate inspection and testing shall be carried out by skilled persons competent to verify that the requirements of this Standard have been met. (BS7671) Appropriate certification shall be issued in accordance with Sections 631 and 632.
  4. Testing is essential and not to be mistaken for notifiable works. Rob do you have a copy or access to the latest BS7671 ?
  5. Part P is just a document (part of the building regs), there is no qualification or training for it. (its free for you to view and download from web as well the other parts you & I have to follow) Anyone who is deemed competent to install the spur for the alarm system can. To be competent would be someone who has a good understanding of whats required. Follow BS7671, some level of electrical training and the correct test equipment to carry out the testing needed to fill out the necessary form(s) and prove the work is safe. http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/buildingregulations/approveddocuments/ just click on part p or part Q depending on what you are doing.
  6. Doing yourself out of work lol
  7. Do your customers also know they are going to have unnecessary increased electricity bills and increased lamp failure rates.
  8. You will just have to wait until the new firmware is released from Texecom. You are not the only one to experience the problems but don't worry Texecom will get it sorted. If you turn off push notifications for now you can still fully use the app locally & remotely and the 'system alert' will stop. Is your router the talk talk supplied unit? Not that it should matter.
  9. Yes as you can only go 100m with the cat5e with IP cam! but for running next to fibre no problem.
  10. If you google regalsafe 125 it brings up a manual in the results! I would not personally spend any time on it and just replace.
  11. There still is no connection for a shielded cat5e plug in the balun.
  12. Do you mean shielded cat5e the one with just the aluminum foil ? When you said screened I had the one with braiding and drain wire in mind.
  13. Do they make baluns with screen connection ? pointless if they dont
  14. So what intruder equipment (manufacture) have you used before ? As it look like you have not used Honeywell !
  15. As already said above , good panel, made for the installer, lots of suppliers.
  16. ? What intruder equipment (manufacture) have you used before ? That is normally a good starting point. No offence but the questions you are asking are very very basic.
  17. Lol spend some of your money and get LED lamps
  18. No, it's a 6 or 10amp radial circuit with lights on it.Taking the feed from that radial circuit for your panel via a fused spur is perfectly acceptable. Technically there's no need for the fused spur as this is only there to protect the cable not the panel hence panel manufacturers have there own mains fuse inside to protect the panel.
  19. I think that would depend on what you are stapling into. Timber, fine but plaster board no.
  20. Metal trunking if you wanted to do it properly (more rodent resistant) but tray would be my second choice if not on show.
  21. Reverse engineer what? It's just an interface. The reason it's probably £30 is because it's sold in very low volumes. Buy one, use it, drink your beer and move on.
