  1. Merry Xmas, wireless pirs are not that good with active cats, if its a slow old cat you might be okay depending on where you place the detectors. Ideally you need to use proper pet tolerant detectors like the bosch bluelines (hard wired only) either that or just fit wireless shocks on all the windows.
  2. Normaly there will be a back tamper (A switch that becomes open when the bell box is pulled from the wall) and a lid tamper this is sometimes on the screw that holds the lid on, sometimes its a spring that becomes open when the lid is removed or opened. Normally the switch requires a little adjustment to make sure that it is closed properly when the BB is screwed to the wall or when the lid is closed .
  3. If you wired it the same as the old one and none of the fuses have blown then its most likely the tamper switch on the BB is not seated correctly
  4. For your area Matt the Police urn will be about £55 monitoring digi you should charge around £200.00 GSM £250.00 and dualpath £350.00 and charge at least £150 for the comms equipment
  5. Bonjour
  6. ola
  7. Without motivation we would all be on benefits
  8. As far as I know they are not selling to diyers, they dont want to support them, very sensible if you ask me. You can buy the Irish version on ebay but its not the same as the UK version.
  9. HKC isnt really DIY though is it Imran
  10. Everyone needs a bit of motivation Steve without it the benefit system would fall over
  11. Thats because there is no badges with SSAIB and I see the badge as recognition, being recognised motivates me
  12. Still need some sort of recognition for being the best, I am sure there are some very good non accredited installers out there that never will bother with accreditation what is their motivation? My motivation is to be the best and have the highest level accreditation, I know that I get work purely because some customers would only use a company with the highest level, but without the badge how would they know? And dislike champagne or not, it is still regarded as the best which is my point. Its not my cup of tea either but its the first analogy that popped into my head. I could have used cream and milk, or chocolate and candy, or cods roe and those other fish eggs, ect ect ect. Not that I have to justify myself to you or anyone else on the forum!
  13. Its not about badges its about customers identifying the accreditation without having to ask or make their own investigations. Its the difference between Champagne and sparkling wine, even though some sparkling wines are very good, you know for sure that Champagne is the best.
  14. That seems a bit daft you would think that they would give it some sort of premium name otherwise where is the motivation for doing it.
  15. If there are no numbers anywhere its probably a sparky job or DIY. Did the previous owner/tenant not say anything? Texe is a basic panel most alarm co's will be able to help you out, so if all out fails google search for an installer near you
  16. Call the installer would be my first call, is there a phone number on the bell?
  17. My company was formed in 1988 so its been a while, I am NSI Gold so would have a biased opinion, but there is not supposed to be any difference between Silver and Ssiab, Silver was invented because Gold was so much harder to get than Ssiab. That said if your Silver you can go for gold at a later date, not sure if you can go anywhere from Ssiab
  18. Hi and welcome Accreditation is probably the best way to get work IMO.
  19. No problem
  20. you had but I deleted one of them
  21. please post your query in one area multiple posts will only cause confusion
  22. Check the lid on the pir
  23. We use ipads with cases, engineers have had them over two years now and only one has a cracked screen, and thats still usable. Ipads are pretty good compared to the cheaper driods, the batteries last forever too
  24. Wireless ip Risco but this still needs power, you wont find any live camera thats completely wireless.
  25. So the point of your post is?
