  1. system q have one but its not that loud they have the pre recorded message too
  2. I dont know, this one worked fine until about the fifteenth century then it started losing time.
  3. I think the above is where you went wrong Ray. If you go back prior to this statement most people giving up their free time to help you were quite willing. Think about the above statement, you come to a website full of people making a living out of security and make out that a 10 year old with chock block tourrettes could do their job. What sort of reaction did you think that would provoke?? Its a bit like us saying anyone can run a Cafe but it would seem not, looking at your reviews. Your alarm system is very poorly installed but I suspect that you didnt really do any homework before your purchase like check reviews or see if they were approved, at least if you had chosen an approved co you could complain to the Worshipful Company of Security Installers and Brethren Of Domotics (Plymouth Chapter). Someone has probably already mentioned this, but changing the detectors to dualtechs will not detect bricks btw, bricks are not burglars. The alarm going off after the window was smashed would not have made any difference either. The window would still be broken and the unhappy customer would still have run away long before anyone noticed.
  4. Hi and welcome. though I doubt you will find this forum as useful as you think, its just a bunch of nerdy blokes talking about putting coloured wires in holes, as far as I can make out.
  5. Once you cancel your contract with your installer they will switch off the account with the Risco cloud. Risco will not deal with you directly unless your installing a few of their systems a week. They will only work with their customers not the end user. He has the engineering code
  6. You will need to find another co to take it over, there is a cloud connection that risco wont handover to a DIYER

    Hi
  9. We havent used rg59 for around 10 years, even if you have analogue cameras cat 5 and baluns is better you can run upto 4 cams on 1 cat5
  10. Theyre nearly as bad as yours
  11. Dell here
  12. You can never be too careful, I like to be sure who is around me before I start looking at the stuff youve posted in the Mod lounge
  13. I use Fing on my phone, its quite handy when your on a public network and you want to see what else is on it
  14. De do do dont de do Hi and welcome
  15. It will stop an opportunist that happens to be in the building and tries a door, it wont stop someone tooled up, but someone having a go at a mag-lock will get noticed. Lets face it mag-locks can still be forced open if your heavy enough, but anyone trying would be noticed doing so
  16. I would agree internal doors, someone would notice if there was a man in a stripey shirt and a swag bag unbolting the lock
  17. I tried the ring which has similar camera, the battery was supposed to last at least a year, it was at 30% within a couple of weeks, and I lost count how many times it lost connection with the router less than a couple of metres away. But to be fair to them I got my money back no quibble
  18. I should mention that the house is not occupied full time, the staff live in the gate house. They need to know if intruders are on the roof when the house is occupied
  19. We have done this on a roof, two HKC pir cameras. Yes there are false alarms, but because they are on the flat roof not that many mostly birds, and none at night. The positive is the fact that a false alarm has its picture taken and sent to the phone app, therefore the customer knows its a false alarm and just rearms the system. No need to go racing up to the house with his dog and baseball bat
  20. If you mentioned what you wanted in the online enquiry then its unlikely that you will be contacted. Perimeter external security would not be popular amongst your average house basher, especially if you drop in words like solar powered, two words that would set any self respecting installer running in the opposite direction. There are various solutions out there, we installed a system at a house in Weighbridge recently for circa £45k using similar to this http://www.southwestmicrowave.com/products/buried-cable-detection-systems/ but I would guess its a bit out of your budget.
  21. Who were you expecting to call? I get the logic, but in order to be able to give advice,it would be sensible to understand the risk. Are you expecting to be targeted specifically? Could it just be that your concerned about opportunists? Have you already had someone enter your garden? I have done several projects of this nature, and my advice would be its expensive to do it properly, and if you dont do it properly its just a waste of money.
  22. In the UK it is Police Policy that monitored alarms can only be set to use fobs for disarming, you are not allowed to use codes unless you use a shunt lock. But I note that you are not in the UK so therefore the rules would be different. AlYeti assumed that you may have programmed your alarm to UK Police Policy. We would not be familiar with the rules of your country but they may be similar, either way it is unlikely to have the same programming as a UK system. Also DSC is not a common alarm panel in the UK only one distributor as far as I am aware.
