  1. Resistor missing Back plate screw is my bet if it has one
  2. Probably maintenance etc , holidays and all that Atleast it's sorted
  3. Won't it update over the portal?
  4. It's not modern tho , discontinued so better to return or don't buy it Get the ion40 range more or less same price The keypad adding can be stupid , power cycle and try again
  5. It maybe your doing things wrong order? Eg partitions won't work without areas right?
  6. But this panel still has those settings , where are you trying to example add a zone to A or D , are you using the usual way go to specific menu? What you mean by area numbers , where are you doing that ?
  7. It took you time to understand my second comment second paragraph So good you worked harder and done it Everything you wrote here is irrelevant, if you have other technical help needed this is good place to start, except for defaulting codes and things like that
  8. Good job , this was part of the effort ,hence first comment Although no need for service? Only time will tell
  9. It will be engineer reset , scanny has this in menus to have certain elements reset by different codes, like other manufacturers , from memory it can also have a bypass method cat remember that how tho Hardly anyone locks those panels, except people like me lol
  10. The problem with this is , when most make a mistake trying to do this , they wipe all the settings to default So if you couldn't find out how by now then try and avoid it, unfortunately this site does not give out that kind of information
  11. Any local installer could do this for you, make contact and pay for service while your at it , full test job done
  12. Nah they far behind Johnson controls ,I not saying they any good but .....
  13. All panels will change due to market trying to catch up with ha even if it's in a basic way, I can't see any way around it
  14. I did like that it had on pard lan port tho Unfortunately pros and cons of all panels , it's not easiest panel to work with But for you to butcher in a coma module it has space They are catching up at snail pace in my view , and getting left behind like Honeywell , many moving away to ha hub type alarms I think Is texecom planning this ? I bet they got some firmware issues hence why they quiet lol
  15. Btw it's not a top notch panel tho I just saw that bit in your comments....
  16. Yeah but this is all side issue and your talking about a small install Take the board out put one of your spare ones in and reprogrammed it End of story with customer Go get an rma from support send board in for repair or swap , they may even have spare board they will swap with you But I guess I am basing my support experience with hkc who are very helpful for installers
  17. Nothing else? If you registered with them they will repair it if you send it to them ,they can probably write to it Although they might not do much .....
  18. What did technical support say ?
  19. I understand, I didn't think latest panels from texecom should do this tho but anyways
  20. But your swb = special wintex build ? I sure Mr H and the rest could have some better meanings .... Lol
  21. But then texecom always had firmware problems lol Just kidding Poor design to allow it write on the fly
  22. I didn't think hkc does this? It loads the update , then programmes the panel no?
  23. Out of curiosity, does the panel do the firmware update ? So it loads the firmware and then updates itself , similar to most devices , if the laptop was to disconnect why would the panel brick? Wouldn't it simply fail the update at download stage ?
  24. Usually the pitfalls are not having it installed by an installer who does it everyday, as DIY usually isn't as good , as you say you have limited experience, they can always hand it over to you working and you could possibly maintain it yourself. What you choose will also depend on what your trying to protect , if your spending £300 then I assume nothing worth much and your not to fussed if it works or not, but £1000+ for an alarm and separately CCTV £2000+ , these are just starting points. Your reading about dahua and hik being an overkill? Even the basic diyer is fitting some of there range , which has a cheaper end of the market and some stuff more expensive You have a floor plan? How many doors windows , etc difficult to say anything if you don't share that , standard square building ? 5-8 cameras or more? I seen doyers spend £2k just on equipment and unlikely they will need to change anything for ten years Need info
