  1. This was my first time posting to this forum because I sought some assistance from what I thought was a group of professionals in a similar industry. The petulant and childish responses I have witnessed so far are to be honest disturbing! Is the security industry in the UK really that infantile? Is this the expected maturity of a life protection system engineer in your community? I shudder at the thought. I sought some 'expert' advice on my first installation when the manufacturer's technical support team was not available. Wonderful work by the Global Moderator I might add! Seems to me the UK market could do with some professionalism - might just make a trip over!

What about the answers to questions to help you? or did you miss them?

  2. Thanks for the comments chaps, taking it all onboard. What are your feelings on the wireless coverage ? Am I asking too much for it to reach the garage? (Probably of no significance , but I can get on my WLAN from the garage)

Texecom ricochet might be better then? Or a galaxy g2 with the wireless card mounted close as possible to garage

Or any panel with repeater solution

Ok can't resist , proffessionaly installed hkc panel with repeater ? I hear there sensors can be weather proof!

  3. You did say floating! Nope boat has a DIY 'alarm' PCB, the biggest reason being it's happy to run on DC only but also supports it's own battery. And very low mA as key based not lcd rkp etc

Many other panels seemed to look for the 50Hz mains frequency to determine mains connected or not so hard to fool.

Admit it , you have a key switch for arming , battery , micro switches on doors , and a siren

  4. No your incorrect you must have done something wrong , that gives you fault tones and exit entry and so on , only follows bell on intruder alert as such

Sounds as though you connected it up wrong as there's two terminals for the speaker , easily connected to strobe if your not looking

Either way speaker terminal gives you chime , exit entry , fault tones , I fitted loads of these in the past , so you wired it up wrong or something

These panels are really basic in some respects but easily damaged if not experienced enough
