Good advice. Could I do what sixwheelbeast suggested and set it up on worktop, then wire in just the keypad and one door contact, test that then remove it and try a pir ??? Can I do this with just battery power ...obviously the battery would need full charge.

Two resistors

Twist a leg of each of them together

Single leg into alarm terminal with one wire of zone pair

Twisted legs into other alarm terminal

Last resisistor leg into tamper terminal

last tamper terminal connects to other leg of zone

And door contact will get confusing as the tamper is one screw if it's a simple contact you bought

I am sure someone's going to correct this

Alarms don't use many components in reality all boards and connections to them, pcb level only a few engineers know what they doing... Or what it's doing at component level

Just install it , start with one sensor use two resistors and there's only a few combinations to do it, either way panel will report a fault

Global tamper should be last resort

you need two, although I seen a few now with one resistor not sure on this panel if it works with one, does it have all the options for zone types?

Virgin probably installed it from where there t was situated , if you cause a fuss they will probably come out and install it cheaper , otherwise you pay full for an extension whatever there charge is

Why can't you just get a local engineer to link the two sockets ? Or run a cable internally ?

Either way you have to pay to do it, or run and connect the cable yourself

Ignore resistors for now and stick the alarm loop on relay contacts , tamper can be global running through each device but you can look at that after this is just to get your zone working

put bell delay to 0 link bell output to link A set link A as timer (for your bell delay) set link A destination (latch or reflex timer) to another output for your bell.

You would need to play around with the modifier for link timer to get it to do what you want.

But if you have a Gal with 5 groups, then setting up links should be easy.

4. Call an installer to fit new panel

Your trying to guess your way round the panel and your questions will be endless if you installed it you must have the manual its all in there hope it works out or get an installer to sort it for you

Anticode? Set by you on original installer ? It's set for anticode so user can't reset it , hence why you can't get into engineer mode either because perhaps code is incorrect
