  1. Ok depending on how it's setup it's quite expensive via the tap service, granted its only per call or sms which I think via open tap is 50p per sms

If they using older o2 or vodaphone centre numbers they are not always reliable

I would have thought in that price there was at least a dialler of sorts or and stand alone gsm unit

Is that the full detailed quote as it doesn't mention monitoring, I missed it speed reading maybe

  2. Yes. putting it in, keeping stock and not as dirty. When it come to using your head, they can be mentally taxing as each other.

Have to disagree about mentally taxing , electrical more Labour intensive , alarms if you knew what some these guys here do with linking systems together and so on you will soon think it's a bit more techinal than you think

Unless you stick to basic systems like me, and don't want the xtra headache

  3. I welcome the debate with you. Every part of you job is easier and cheaper. But i'm referring to say police or call centre responce systems. Plus have a company in place 24/7 for problems. Not a tight **** who just wants cheapest alarm he can. As i get older i don't think i could be a electrician in my 50's. Alot of electricians do move over to your side and don't come back. They all told me it has it's ups and downs, but it's a lot easier life.

How is alarm fitting easier than electrical? You just mean the Labour side yes?

  4. This was my first time posting to this forum because I sought some assistance from what I thought was a group of professionals in a similar industry. The petulant and childish responses I have witnessed so far are to be honest disturbing! Is the security industry in the UK really that infantile? Is this the expected maturity of a life protection system engineer in your community? I shudder at the thought. I sought some 'expert' advice on my first installation when the manufacturer's technical support team was not available. Wonderful work by the Global Moderator I might add! Seems to me the UK market could do with some professionalism - might just make a trip over!

What about the answers to questions to help you? or did you miss them?
