    Asif of walk tests look for the pirs which pay have a constant light on , any damaged cables blah blah Send some pics a list of what you have

    You assumed zone 4 is patio doors by searching online A zone could be any device in any zone Ascertain how many sensors you have trigger them one at a time on walk test and tick off each one , you may find magnetic sensors on doors in the frames or on the surface , to try and narrow down what and where your looking for it

    Your right plenty spares on eBay , especially keypads, so carry on like contracts, never upgrade and never move with the times

    Apart from that ignore engineer hold you could connect it if you want at the bell side and leave it disconnected at panel end

    I meant the device not the aerial , some devices work off a buss like the webway and so , and you can mount it away from the panel but these cards you can't

    So installers hands over phone to end user and gets it free either way?

    It's a shame allot of these products can't be mounted further away as you can't extend the data connection Maybe everyone has to switch back to dial capture and all is well
