Does the omit unit buzz when you turn the key?

  • You need a key for the zone omit unit above. Once you have it omit the zone (it will buzz) open the safe, close the safe and un-omit the zone.

Well the guy from the alarm company came. Apparently you have enter a code and use the key also to disarm the safe from the system when I need access. He said they are going to re-enable the redcare stu thing which he says uses the phone line and mobile network and also the outside box failed its test so they are going to replace that tomorrow they are sorting the paperwork end out first. Just a quick question he said the redcare uses the existing BT line do I have to pay line rental for the phone line even though we use Virgin Media? Cheers

Thanks for the update.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

All I know is they made me fill in some paper work for key holders and for Merseyside Police and a contract then they are coming to replace the front outside box and he mentioned something about upping with the monitoring station.

"Upping" sounds like you have the type that is not compatible with your connection. You need to check the things as per my post above.

They will say Redcare or Dualcom as if they are the same. Loads of redcare gsm removed for Dualcom g2r

Check insurance requirements for the signaling first I would say

Check license requirements first  or dog will do

Agreed,

the shunt unit is made by holyes and can operate in different modes for omitting the zone.

the honeywell sensor is a seismic vibration senor made fir safes and atms etc.

If you know what you have first then you can check with insurance IMO.

With signalling already fitted it's likely to have been insured before with what's fitted, low chance that the risk has changed.

Obviously it would be the opposite way round if it was a new installation.
