Agility PIR sensors insensitive

Thanks Mr Happy that’s helped.  I’ve realised it’s something to do with the fitting. When I take them down and prop them up on a shelf they work perfectly fixed with the supplies fixing they work but are insensitive.  The fixing is part of the back that keeps the tamper switch down.  Suspect the back is not fitting snugly when on the wall.  Any ideas?

Are the fairly directional? Could it be they are looking at the top 2 feet of the room space when fitted?
