AC security
I've always used hikvision , the hdtvi dvrs are really good , like a few people mentioned a few of the newer new come without a bnc output, the latest installation I did was the 3 megapixel range DS-7204HUHI-F1/N, this did have a bnc output, the latest firmware they use gives the option of pattern unluck or password, which is easier for the end user in my eyes if they need to access the dvr. In my experience a copy is just a unit produced by the manufacturer but without the branding. There are not many genuine manufacturers of CCTV equipment in China but often the same product is distrubuted with a different brand stitched to the unit or no brand at all. ElecTech
Is it me or is HIK vision way overhyped? I've never used it before until yesterday & I'd say it looks cheap & nasty which runs in like with what they paid for it so no arguments on that point but I don't think this product is suitable for "any application". It has a market don't get me wrong but I don't think it warrants the wankfest some people make out... 2 Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/39594-hikvision-hdtvi-any-good/page/3/#findComment-456749 Share on other sites

Devaluing the industry and being beta testers for consumer kit. Ive been to China and seen how they operate a copy is exactly that, a copy. Not an original in an unbranded case. Though the case may be the same, and in some cases it may have a Hik chip it will not have the same quality. Compared to the proper stuff it is crup atm, but it is good value for money crup and the ANPR system cannot be beaten on price nothing comes close. My Hybrid NVR/DVR cost me three times as much to produce than a 16 way Hik, my DVR/NVR is a far easier recorder to operate, search, has more features, and I can integrate the CCTV with most things, and I have better analytics. But it wont be long before Hik catch up, its only really taken them 5 years to get here, think what they will be doing in 5 years time. Sad really Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/39594-hikvision-hdtvi-any-good/page/3/#findComment-456765 Share on other sites
ElecTech
Let's just hope the better competitors can do as much in 5 years to advance even further, I doubt it though.
