Power Line Adaptors

Featured Replies

Quick question. Got a house with existing powerline wifi extenders around the house, all working fine.

I'm going tomorrow to fit a dvr in the loft, but needs networking. Will plugging another wired pair in cause any issues??

cheers

Funny enough this issue came up today. It didn't work and we had to do GPRS only.

They are tp link powerline wifi points at the mo (old house with no data points)

I wanted to use a plug in pair to patch in the dvr?

I was going to try some tp link hard wired units.

Any other options?

you can have loads of powerline units of the same type, but they are a hub based system. so if you have a few then bandwidth will be shared

TP link are great. if you have one by the router, you then keep the existing wifi one and you only need to use another one by the DVR. the three will act as their own switch.

+1 for tplink

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

Go for a similar one to what is already there, if its av200 get av200 or if its av500 stick to that
