how do they know which one to switch off when there all lined up together..

It's rare that there are more than 2 RAS side by side but they have a sticker on them tell them the alarm group it controls. It is expensive but it works well. At adt I remember having multiple keypads on the 4250 so resuming that couldn't handle multiple groups from the same keypad.

Re the multi group thing on a single circuit on a gal. You can only use the * group modifier on final zones not entry zones. So if pts is in use you need 2 contacts, a relay or links.

Just name the groups

That's part of the problem with ats, you disarm areas, not groups.
