marcus19811981
I think I have found some resolution to this Veritas R8 problem The guys phoned me and says he is getting some one to remove the system because I won't. I ve offered to sort the problem out sending a letter in writing (recorded delivery) He intends to Bill me for having it removed and take me to court to get the money back. I am hoping he has the system removed. He won't have a leg to stand on and considering he's no paper work for his electrical installation I think he will lose. You think if another alarm company puts in writing your work was substandard that you won't get judgement against you? Clearly you've never been to court before before. Consumer - v - Business = he's already 80% of the way to winning his case without seeing any evidence. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/ Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/34143-alarm-fault-on-a-veritas-r8-plus/page/5/#findComment-307448 Share on other sites

marcus19811981
I ve offered to sort out the problem but they won't have it. The problems is the DIY wiring at his premises and mains supply. Theres no fault on my test bench. He won't allow me to go back and diagnose the fault. If he wants to take the systen out by some one else then I can't resolve the problem. He refuses to allow me to fix it. He suddenly decided he didn't want it. I have never refused to sort it out, they won't allow me. I probably did did under charge. marcus19811981
Globel moderator. Sorry to be rude, I was uncertain about quoting my quotes. The system was £400. Veritas R8+, 4 PIRs, 2 shocks, door contact. It was more but I reduced it because he did his owm wiring and spur. Installed last week. The mains fault happened about an hour after leaving the job completed. MrHappy
cost, interested as the court fee's depend on the cost they wish to claim for, time scale, if you speak to someone like your local trading standings I suspect they will inform you that you have a reasonable time to put right any defects, I've never heard a veritas chime on mains fail, so I assume you check the subscriber has not accidentally programmed a pir a a chime zone ? norman
Sorry but imo life's too short, walk away and mark this one to experience. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
