Roller Shutter 1 Or 2 Contacts?

Featured Replies

2 contacts confimed right away, or intruder if lifted from one side..

Beam Pair if on seperate zones or series

One action shouldn't send a confirmed.

Like fitting Shocks or BGU's too close together, for example.

Same tech also

We tend to fit one, never been pulled up about it, then either DT, or AX across the door

still no confirmed if they check which end is contacted and pop the other.

We have had to fit beams on a few sites due to being rammed with fork lift and not activating the contacts.

Aye, most doors we see are either fastened down from the inside, or locked halfway up, so popping them out would be hard going?

Still, one site we had a hole cut IN the door. Big cat flap type job, wish I got a pic!

Unlucky for them there was AX across the door and D/T in loading bay

if the shutter is that big then yes 2 contacts either in the same confirm group or in series is a good idea but not a requirement. Also if the door is dodge id also spec an active beam. agree with the trap protection of an overlooking dt

Is there anything that says shutters have to be contacted? IE would two dual techs covering the area inside the shutter not be a better, easier, less faffing around solution?

lol thats what Astra alarms do, bit rough on G2 with no mask IMO.

anti

Nowt no

anti mask is about risk on the site. Most people do G2 afaik so to generalise that its weak imo goes against most opinion. I personally would go for contact and trap protection on the view. There is an en guideline that dictates this but its optional so far

I hate RSD contacts they fail far to often for my liking.

We have started fitting 2 x Guardall DT 15+ at each side of the shutter (with the mask connected as we only fit G3 Galaxy on monitored jobs)

Our Fa rate is very low and we dont get stupid callouts to rotten RSD contacts.

Even if the job is G2 we connect the mask on 99.9% of the detectors.
