  1. that part of the alarm is active all the time unless you isolate it temporarily with the shunt module. Maybe concern about little ones finding a key and getting to them
  2. even though the system is not under a contract it will need to be reprogrammed to stop it dialling, ie disable the communicator also pstn lines can now cause digicoms (I assume your communicator type) to 'runaway' and keep dialling to deliver a test or signal until they com fail, usually 8 times every time it tries. It can then try to deliver a comm fail and the circle goes on and on etc
  3. Points save using real zones. Irish fw is different to UK but UK allows zones to be used with rf even if expanders are not connected
  4. Your confusing what zones are imo If your using points 50 to 59 then you can't use zone 5 Once all your zones and points are running correctly you will use the point/zone options per device to remove from part set a and b. You don't 'map' anything
  5. It sounds like you added it to a point. You cannot also use that zone if using points. Just change the point options for that device as if it was a zone
  6. You don't if it's a point assign point options If you assign as a zone then do that but it's one or the other Points you can have 10 on a zone each identified individually
  7. Program the external bell as something else And yes
  8. I doubt most would 'rip you off' but I'm sure all would charge to come out
  9. I assume its like a vibration sensor but I'd expect noise on the cables to cause issues at 1ms
  10. If its a relay output marked nc then I would set at 300ms and 1 pulse Do you have the manual for the detector?
  11. Op is the output of the sensor relay based?
  12. It would need an annual monitoring charge. Its not a one off fee
  13. Ideally ypu need a hi lo sounder
  14. Have a look at the nsi website for nsi installers in your area and get 3 quotes. Then post back etc
  15. They were magnetic sensitive so had to be away from that. Also weren't supposed to extend the white leg so shutters, sealed stuff etc 'could' be an issue
  16. There was a replacement called oip never adopted by anyone but gjd iirc
  17. If its not doing anything and it has 12v at the keypad terminals I'd say you have either blown it or its doa
  18. Check there is data getting to the keypad. Disconnect all keypad connections and test it on the cp on a short temp wire
  19. It is worrying how cctv seems to be the ideal for all, but when something happens it rarely is. Hopefully people will ask a security professional their opinion just before the hot place freezes over. Then we will all be tarred with the same brush as nest and ring. Isn't it brilliant marketing
  20. Eng manuals are only on the trade side. Batts depend on device the contacts are different to the passives to the bell etc
  21. Use an output programmed as ee horn. Or a proper speaker. Hate those twin alert things
