  1. Really? AI CCTV is cheaper than you think and its getting cheaper all the time the tech is in the basic kit now for some brands. Its a security forum, I have trouble understanding what some of the northerners are saying. I had the Ajax rep in the kit looked nice enough if you like non compliant one way wireless tat everyone is welcome
  2. I guess that Ring Blink and such like has a market, when they work they do work well, the Ring doorbell I had was useless, even on WiFi. One of my engineers has one and says it great, though when Ive been with him when it rains he get millions of notifications. I have a decent CCTV setup at home that notifies me when someone is in my garden, or at my front door. I dont get false activations when it rains or when there is a cat in the garden, so I am more likely to look at my phone when I do get an activation, unlike my engineer that ignores activations from his Ring most of the time
  3. With CCTV you get exactly what you pay fo, if you expect a decent system with adequate storage, to be professional installed neatly, then expect to pay. We wouldn't retail a recorder and two cameras for £325.00 let alone a complete installed system, well not unless you are happy to have old new stock.
  4. LOL "an SI mom says she feel violated after a man infiltrated her ring"
  5. I guessed it probably was, but because the poster said it was a virgin problem I was slightly worried as I have quite a lot of customers on virgin
  6. I find CCTV is being installed by more and more numpties that either specify the highest spec they can ie 4k fixed 2.8 in s small corridor, or down the side of a building where a decent 4mp with the right lense will do a far better job, under spec the HDD 1tb, place cameras in the wrong place so they only capture the tops of peoples heads, and never change the settings like BLC or WDR. Im up against two mongs now in a school with a camera in each corridor about 2m wide by 10 to 15 m long, they specced 3.5 lenses do you think they will mount them all sideways to get the best view? The customer tells me that they have specced much higher resolution than me. Its hard trying to explain to someone that knows nothing about CCTV , that although when on paper it looks better but they are using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, and the usefulness of whats produced will be okay so long as you dont mind eating crushed shell with your nut.
  7. Hmm I have a webway and HKC on my virgin BB here never had a problem, plenty of customers on virgin too with no reported problems. Where abouts in the country are you?
  8. Ring, blink, and all the other cheap tat is better than the old tvl systems with a VCR, but at the moment its a long way from proper CCTV. James has a test Blink system and it is mildly impressive for the money, if 5 secs of video motion every time someone visits your house or when go out or you come home is enough for you.
  9. yep over 1k if you put coax in the middle not that Ive tried it
  10. I dont know about others the epoe does what the op asked, which was my answer to the question
  11. the bit your looking at is traditional there are no epoe cams? Below the top camera is not poe, the three below that are epoe, all of em will do what the op wants
  12. I regularly clear my cookies, which helps quite a bit with ads for shite I may have looked at, but I am totally clueless what Wish uses for cookies, as the recommended for you section is full of armless and legless women sextoys?
  13. FFS its only been a week the stool sample you sent isnt back from the lab yet
  14. The battery should have lasted a min 12 hrs if its the correct size, it weill take 24hrs to fully recharge but after around 4 hrs you should be able to clear the message. If your system was installed by a reputable installer and the battery is a quality brand, its the correct size for your system, and the panel supply is adequate enough to charge it, you will be fine.
  15. Do you have a multi meter? check the voltage at the panel and at teh keypad that will tell you if its a cable fault . If it is diss all the 12vdc cables in the panel and connect the keypad directly into the panel on a short bit of wire
  16. Thunderbird does a good job of blacklisting spam spam, I can also set up auto delete for key phrases in the subject line like "Simple Contact Form" The asking to unsubscribe and the clicking the unsubscribe button has worked it definitely reduces the life coach, and recruitment , promotional video, emails I get.
  17. I did mean the legit numpties not the proper spammers, life coach's, recruitment feckers, website promoters, people ike that again as above, not referring to spam I dont reply to that, normally these are real people at the end of the email that are looking for a reply to the address they sent from
  18. fecking loads i hit the unsubscribe button or ask politely for rhem to unsubscribe me from their spam list, if they dont I set them as spam and subscribe their email to as much free shit as I can find, not quite a ddos attack but probably annoying
  19. Its why I said shorten the posts down, we get bored after the second sentence, one question at a time, you will get more sensible replies
  20. Mine too, just for the record.
  21. Wouldn't happen in the UK, insurers like to cover their bets here
  22. I would be double checking what your policy says if I were you, I think it highly unlikely that an insurance company would accept anything less than a system installed by an accredited company with at least dual-path grade 3 monitoring. I would expect that a goldsmith studio will hold theft attractive stock and property, and I would expect the value of the contents to be in the thousands not the hundreds. Does your policy mention Police response? Just trying to save you a whole lot of heartache
