  9. Or taken the engineer link off the bell?
  10. I think you have to put it all in
  11. I heard a rumour that if you leave it in the freezer overnight it defaults ?
  12. Also when was the battery last replaced?
  13. Its one way wireless so its nothing to do with distance, or waht it has to travel through. You can add a 12vdc PSU to these bells that would stop the battery going flat
  14. Its a three year old thread, he has probable bitten the bullet and moved on to the 21st century now
  15. Ive tested most of these doorbells now Ring Hik Dahua Chinese cheapos, and they do work 8 or 9 times out of 10, and so the alarm should be fine ......most of the time. Seriously though, the doorbells are nothing like the adverts would have you believe, my ring doorbell missed so many parcel deliveries and I know that the postie press the button because I have hard wired reliable CCTV. And it alerted falsely so many times even on the lowest setting that I couldn't use the motion detect at all. I do not understand why anyone would have a doorbell, understand that it doesn t always work, and then think I know, Ill use their alarm to protect my home. Its sods law that it will let you know just as the burglar is leaving, thats what the doorbell does.
  16. Most live boxes have flashing leds some dummies have flashing led, most ADT boxes are dummies. Would you trust Ring? I wouldnt
  17. Ive done it before you need to see which circuit terminals are common, I havent tried with an Accenta. But that said I would think the person who ran the cable would be more of a clown if he joined one of the unused wires and not the other, my money would be on a damaged cable rather than a clown installer. Is EOL not available or is the panel too early?
  18. its a 350 the 370 was on-board keypad
  19. He will strip them back to the indivual cores first silly
  20. Probably best they will be able to change setting at the server end which may be all thats required,
  21. shh!
  22. Im not sure that we went off topic? You ask us stuff we ask why, just so that we can find out the best way to reply, we like to know full facts in order to give the best advice. If you asked whats the best detector for my lounge we would ask lots of questions about your lounge
  23. I get all my stuff from Maplin
  24. That's great so what about all the strange and wonderful things that we all know happen but are not in any of the engineers manuals? What about working out how to get a cable from A 2 B aesthetically invisible. There are so many things that I instantly know what the fault is just by the description of the symptoms that any novice would take a week to work out, which is all down to experience. In order to make enough money to survive in this industry you have to find and fix faults quickly and first time, because customers wont pay for you to keep changing stuff until you get it right, which means your boss is paying.
