  1. Yep agreed we're getting less & less posters nowadays, but people like yourself, happy, SWB, al, James & Pete etc are the backbone posters of the forum. It would be a shame to see such a good resource to die out for lack of use.
  2. Come on guys tell the truth. You know you all secretly yearn for a nice shiny new Yale sounder on your houses Lol.
  3. Yeah it's ridiculous, protecting your livelihood with something like that ;-)
  4. The Isotech has the Non contact, Auto-v and Lo-z functions built in.
  5. Well my meter finally arrived this afternoon & after giving it a good try out, have to say quite impressed. It's pretty fast responding & quite accurate, the ultra bright backlight will be really handy & the display is very crisp. Actually like the ark of the bargraph positioned above the numbers as well.
  6. Nice, definitely think the Yellow box looks much better Lol.
  7. There's the thing SWB: It's our opinion, we know it's not really up to the job but the DIY sheds are still going to keep churning it out and the punters are going to keep buying it. Joe public see's the name Yale on the box & thinks it must be good and I can fit it myself without paying an installer, so I've got more money to spend on my Booze, Fags, Dope or whatever else is the in thing for them. Even seen them fitted to a few business premises lately.
  8. Take a look at the nsi site, there's a quick & simplified calculator on there.
  9. Have you tried a site Search ?, Sure there's a calculator on here somewhere.
  10. Technically not really as long as you know where to make the connections and use a minimum 1 amp PSU that's rated for constant use, not cheap Chinese tat. The comfort led could run off the same line as they take so little current. Just remember that as soon as you start opening / altering the "sounder" any warranty you had will be void. The other consideration would be your house insurance if the thing caught fire after you'd modified it, think you'll find you voided that as well. Please don't ask for details of how to connect your sounder, the engineers answering questions are all Pro's and wouldn't touch the stuff with the proverbial bargepole.
  11. Your more than welcome, thanks for taking the time to come back and update us.
  12. As above to be honest. You could have bought a fully wired good quality kit for half of that cost, re used the old wiring if good and away to go.
  13. Hey al: Never had anything good out of them myself. I use Royal mail a lot for sending small parcels, both in UK and abroad. The 2nd class small parcel service is Tracked & traced and normally gets there in 48 but can take 3 days, normally 5 to Europe and they've been brilliant so far. Same with Parcel force, they email you to tell you when the parcel is out for delivery to you as well.
  14. To be honest, DPD: Desperate, Pathetic & Dire as far as I'm concerned. Not once have I had decent service from them, last delivery we had via them was my Daughter sent my missus flowers for mother's day. No one in when they arrived, so they just dumped them on the pavement outside. Even Hermes don't do that.
  15. Hi Peter: Thanks for that, appreciated. Will keep it in mind for the future, if I ever get to employing other engineers and needing their meters calibrated. Guess I'll stick with a calibration service for now, more cost effective at the moment.
  16. Just a warning to everyone: This meter was supposed to have been delivered today by DPD shutl. This was confirmed by email yesterday so someone has been here all day waiting for it, I've just checked with DPD to find out where it is & been told that the driver has delivered it to a "parcel point" by mistake. The only problem is the shop he's supposedly delivered to is not one of their agents & they're not exactly sure what part of the country it's in, he will have to go and try to retrieve it and I should now hopefully get it sometime Thursday. If your thinking of sending a parcel, I'd give DPD a wide berth. I hate it when sellers use them as you can virtually guarantee problems.
  17. Hi Peter: What calibration box do you use ?.
  18. My mistake: The Lyte is 2 x 9 not 2 x 7.
  19. Hi Al: One's a Lyte 2 x 7 and the other is an Alos 3 x 9 combi, that one's got a lifetime trade guarantee. Both pretty tidy ladders & reasonably lightweight.
  20. Hi: Your welcome & Yes mate, normal operating mode. Please come back and let us know what happens.
  21. Yes mate, she seems genuine & unusually has 100% positive feedback. It'll be getting a full check and test as soon as it arrives & then off to be calibrated if it's out.
  22. Almost new in original box with accessories, £32.00. Can't post a pic, it hasn't arrived yet. If you Google it, the pics and user manual come up.
  23. Hi Al: Hope so mate but it was cheap so if it lasts a year, I'll be happy. Didn't want to buy something expensive, I just had to buy 2 new sets of ladders & as you know they're not cheap for decent quality.
