  1. I agree ref the nuisance but if you have it installed and maintained properly your neighbours won't know what your alarm sounds like. Does seem a bit scientology to me though...
  2. @JonJR if you are happy with it and are aware of it's limitations then good for you I say, but this is nothing like the offerings of a proper company. Ref the repair I guess it's not under any sort of maintenance agreement that covers call outs?
  3. The majority of bookies have bells only, hardly a good example of a company who takes security seriously. You're comparing apples with pears.
  4. Used to gently but firmly bang on the window for the low tone and press the tester simultaneously for the high tone, as above I dislike these more than shocks.
  5. Oh I don't know about that, I've seen Al Yeti logged in in the early hours...
  6. Hello and welcome, have a read of the rules and apply for trade.
  7. All down to risk, a dialer should be set up to send a test signal imo but that usually adds cost.
  8. Can't remember tbf, but a lot were generic modules in those days
  9. Yes points towards the wall
  10. Yup, usually by window fitters thinking they were alarm men.
  11. Used to look after loads of those, they worked fine tbf.
  12. It's youth slang for sorry I must have been wrong old chap, please accept my apologies and I'll take myself outside and give myself a jolly good thrashing.
  13. If the memory has dumped then it also needs a new NVM battery
  14. Very well, but you'd save money straight away as a company would only change the batteries every 4 years. The XPC is most likely a dummy external siren as these were sold as monitored systems, sold and installed in the main by subcontract sales companies in the early 2000's so having one non monitored is a bit of a waste of time. Just imo of course.
  15. How long ago was it last serviced?
  16. Unfortunately, and for obvious reasons, we can't advise people how to do this, likewise it will need reprogramming for your requirements in any case. If you found the code to this system then potentially a lot of other systems by this installer could be compromised, how long ago was it under contract?
