Can you please recommend home security systems for seniors? Also, if you could explain how these systems work, I would highly appreciate it.

Apologies if this is in the incorrect forum but I moved into a house a few years ago and it had an ADT alarm system. The previous owner had monitoring in place but this was cancelled when they moved out. Since then I've just had it switched off. However I now want to use the system as a standalone alarm without monitoring. Is this something I can do? I assume I will have to pay to have the alarm enabled but can I use it without monitoring?

Evening all, I've got a proper headscratcher of an issue with a few years old Premier Elite 48 that I'm wondering if anyone else has seen? For reference, the set up is a PE48 control panel, 8XP-W, PSU200XP and Smartcom. Everything as far as I know and can see is set up correctly, including the removal of the 12V+ from the panel to the PSU200XP network terminals. The PE48 panel has 8 x QDs, the 8XP-W, an Odyssey X and an Odyssey 5E and the Smartcom connected to it, as well as an SMS module on the Digicom outputs and supplies all of these with 12V. Recently during a battery test (17Ah 12V Yuasa, 2 years old), the current draw of the pane…

Does anyone have any experience with configuring a Galaxy panel and C080 Door Control Module using 3rd Party readers? I've got a customer who has an extensive PAC Access Control System on their site and they want to use PAC credentials to set/unset an alarm. My question is - can I use PAC GS3 (Multi Technology) readers directly on a C080 DCM to set/unset, or do I have to install a whole PAC Controller and then link it to the Galaxy? Any advice would be most welcome. Neither Honeywell or PAC have been able to help.

Hi All, I am looking for some firmware files for the Menvier 40 Panel. I am aware of the scantrionic website, and have downloaded the BIN file from there, but they do not have any language files listed. If anyone has a copy of the the firmware they are willing to share, that would be most appreciated! Thanks Dan

Hi I have a Risco Agility 3 alarm. This works well. But i have a I/O expander that is connected to the alarm that works very badly. I want to get a output on the relay when i arm the system. This works mostly but then suddenly i get no output. And sometime then i disarm the relay drops and then suddenly it closes again. The output is configured as latched output. As you can see this can not bee used for anything. I have had the I/O for two years and it has never worked well. The support for the alarm in my country says they have heard this before and they can not help me. So my question is.…

Hi all, I’m selecting a panel for my home, I’ve got a Honeywell G4 at the minute and I’m happy enough with this but it’s a bit limited on the output side. I’ve spoken to a few people and nosed around various forums, some have said Galaxy G2’s are bullet proof where as the newer Flex series can be a bit buggy but are worth the investment. Not too worried about scoping for size. I’ve got two external doors that will have magnetic contacts and 6-7 PIR sensors throughout the house, A bell box (or two) and three keypads. I believe either system should be good with this. My real question is on the I/O side of things. I have a fairly involved monitoring system and ho…

Hello, I am curious that whether 360 and wall mount(assume they have same properties ie. quad/DT) have a huge difference on their performance? It seems like most of the installations are using wall mount , do 360s have their specific application? Any ideas will be appreciated

Hi, Just trying to pick the right components. I have got already Honeywell Dimension Galaxy 48 and C079-2 RF-RIO and I'm pretty sure that DT8M wireless PIR will work with it, but I thought I will ask before I buy those. Idea is to build temporary scaffold alarm system. So question no.2: Is it the bast what I can shoes from Honeywell dual-tec wireless PIRs for this situation? Sure not counting the fact that they probably not outdoor rated, but I will make it up something. I'm thinking to put it in 'pet mode', so in case if foxes jumping over the fence or cats. I will put beam away from bushes or trees I think this will do the job? My not profes…
