Break glass keeps going off

Featured Replies

Have installed an alarm in my shop. Texecom elite system.
we have a risco break glass sensor fitted onto the ceiling.
we have a double door system but when the door closes it tends to slam and this sets of the break glass sensor. Also there is a mag lock on the door and that locking also causes the sensor to go off

Was there a question?

Replace and/or resite the breakglass if that's the most appropriate equipment to use, it's not fit for the job as is.

What kind of frames ?

Shocks could work provided no one bangs on the windows at night

Aluminium. Would it be ok to use shocks. Double knock? Would that still be grade 3 certified

DIY can't do Grade 3. Double Knock doesn't conform to any standard.

Motion detection fitted correctly can cover a window area if the window was broken.

Hence the question is a glass break the correct detection for the task, most often they are not.

So if I the shock sensors on double knock to prevents false alarms from someone banging the window. This wouldn’t be grade 3?

Double knock doesn't comply. Windows tend to only break once too.

You might be better with window foil. I hate glass break sensors generally but I'd suggest a different glass break detector assuming you have it sited correctly.
