What is the most suitable security camera system for my needs?

But affordable @ the outset and possibly more important, within budget for a couple?

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

  • In order I'd look at physical security (supplimentary locks to doors and windows), then an alarm, CCTV rarely deters it just means you can watch the covered faces whilst they ransack your home.

I know, just adding my much needed approval.

  • Thank you very much for your replies. Some of the replies have made me chuckle especially the pie dinner one! Thanks again

More affordable, still needs installation of a kind.

So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands

I'd recommend Nest over Swann any day that's for sure!

Yep I agree.

Looking at budget, and the fact you stated low maintenance.

I'd make sure any door and window locks are sufficient, add or upgrade if necessary.

Dummy box and a few battery powered adhesive shock sensors on vulnerable windows.

Maybe you'll have change left for a pie dinner.

Get yourself a budget of £2.5k for Cctv and around £1200 for your alarm

All depends what you value everything at

£300 is my initial budget. Thanks

Get a big dog, theyre cheap from rescue centres. Nest will let you see them breaking in, assuming that you get the notification on your phone, and as Steve says if their faces are covered it wont be much help.  There is nothing security wise that I would recommend with a £300 budget.
