datadiffusion
You always need to balance the usability of the system and loss of confidence from frequent false alarms. At night in a typical UK 3 bedroom, 2 storey house it is highly likely you will be awoken by an intruder causing ground floor circuits to be activated. Its highly unlikely in the dark that entry will be effected via a 1st floor bedroom, although a full RA will always help, as will perimeter protection such as vipers on windows above flat roofs, contacts on opening windows, etc... So I have no issue with the typical 'omit landing pir at night' type scenario. charlie6
"....frequent false alarms..." So where are these frequent false alarms coming from and who's fault (if any) are those false alarms.... Operator error due to inadequate information given by the installing company...poorly sourced equipment..or a questionable RA ? At one time there was a 'three strikes and you're out' system whereby the police withdrew response after three false alarms.
