January 23, 201511 yr comment_408896 I was thinking about the DIY approach if possible. The Scanny I On is a good panel but I'm sure only 1 way wireless. You should go 2 way wireless so I would recommend the Pyronix Enforcer panel. I would also suggest that you obtain 3 quotes from registered companies. We have started to use the Risco equipment too. We have had a few issues with the door contacts going faulty. Except for the door contacts everything seems to be good quality. I'm a big fan of Risco and have used them for the past 12 years. Is it the 2 way contacts or 1 way? January 23, 201511 yr comment_408898 Yes, Scantronic is 1 way - forget it! Still like it for wired jobs but don't use it for wireless. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/37992-recommend-me-a-wireless-system/page/2/#findComment-408898 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 January 23, 201511 yr comment_408914 If it is DIY then I would say go with the enforcer panel. January 23, 201511 yr Author comment_408933 Thanks for the comments chaps, taking it all onboard. What are your feelings on the wireless coverage ? Am I asking too much for it to reach the garage? (Probably of no significance , but I can get on my WLAN from the garage) Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/37992-recommend-me-a-wireless-system/page/2/#findComment-408933 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 January 23, 201511 yr Author comment_408961 How far away is your garage? Approx 15m from the house, I could situate the control unit so it only had one exterior wall to penetrate. January 24, 201511 yr comment_408974 Approx 15m from the house, I could situate the control unit so it only had one exterior wall to penetrate. Galaxy wireless would be okay at that distance. Got a site which about 15m though 2 stone walls and across a courtyard. The enforcer is a nice little domestic type panel, 2way wireless, keyfobs can be reprogrammed and it can be linked to an ARC or send SMS. As others I'd reccomend getting quotes for repetuable local company's. See SSAIB or NSI. January 24, 201511 yr comment_409004 If going for wireless you need to look at full system with 2 way wireless. Keep in mind some manufacturers have 2 way and 1 way in the same kit. What is your budget? You should consider having an approved company install a system for you, unless you are set on DIY.
