May 7, 201214 yr comment_284025 anyone using rain x as standard on cctv systems? Just for domes or all cams? Taken from rain x website... Can it be used on transparent plastics Generally no. The increasing variety of various coatings applied to plastics makes it impossible to pre-test for compatibility under all conditions, and users should satisfy themselves by treating an area outside the normal area of vision. Please note that constant, repetitive use should be avoided due to the possible formation of stress cracking, especially on clear, curved sections We've witnessed this first hand on a takeover. On-site maintenance had reported hairline cracks on the PTZ dome covers. When questioned turns out they where using rain x several times a year. August 18, 201213 yr comment_288292 No as it coundnt work. I have seen specialist cameras that spin an outer some to repel water. But if its an issue you need a camera with a flat glass to use a wiper. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. August 19, 201213 yr comment_288311 Little bit of info about the product I posted earlier; (Meguiars Plast R-X Plastic) This easy-to-use, rich gel formula quickly restores optical clarity to both rigid and flexible clear plastics. Cutting-edge advancements in Meguiar’s® exclusive Microscopic Diminishing Abrasive™ Technology (MDAT) remove light oxidation, chemical degradation, surface contamination, stains and light surface scratches with ease.
