  1. its not so easy to accidental lock the panel on the premier (not impossible though). looks like its covered. the gsm com just make sure you have a very good signal.
  2. hmmm so if you have corrected defaulted the panel and it accepts 4321 and not 1234 to get in the menus then the panel eng code is locked, if it accepts both codes and 1234 prog gets into engineering panel is defaulted, new panels are not locked as they come out of the factory. Secondly the panel doesnt come with eol enabled out of the factory. If you have changed the codes, its not uncommon for people to get them mixed up especially because of the two ways the code is changed. So if you get in with a code the best thing is to check if an engineer only menu is available to you say. eng code prog 50, if you get the error tone you are in user, if it is in engineer you get taken to that menu. In engineering you can default the panel, and then the system will have default eng code and default master code. 60 is used to change the code currently in use, so if you used eng code to get into menus you will change the engineers code and not the user and vice versa, 61-68 can be used to change user 1 through to user 8 (ENG can change eng codes, Master user can change user codes only) if you create another user you must assign user level in the corrosponding user level menus 71 through to 78. not aware of any panels with afault that locked themselves so if it has been locked its been done in error.
  3. Texecom and Risco The enforcers I have installed have been okay but they were small systems. Visonic panels havent installed any of the new stuff but believe they switch frequencies to avoid jamming issues according to the training I did a while back.
  4. I recently bought the linx 10 with the origami style keypad (the keypad is fragile, lost escape key with first few days), I use it for wintex etc and its good also in the process of putting notes as well as the user and engineers manuals on a 64gb sd card. you can get this from ebuyer and various other stockists with a £50 trade in on your old tablet making the price much more attractive found a decent case on amazon for a tenner. Think the trade in offer is just about coming to an end though. Small light and other than the keypad it is perfect (Argos did have £20 of vouchers free when i bought it but offer expired now).
  5. If you have an LED keypad and the option is available you have two choices 1 or 2, I cant remember which way round it is, it is a recently added function and the manual may well not be up to date.
  6. thought the veritas could use 4k7 and 2k2 resistors by changing the option in menu 30 on the new panels but last i heard you needed the led keypad to access menu 30 and the lcd would be updated at some point. The aux tamper as far as I am aware doesn't use the the eol, but a zone programed as tamper would. you should be able to disable the zones not in use menu 48- 50 ish for the full set would need the quick guide to refresh my memory, with the zones disabled you don't need to link the zones out at all.
  7. it as knackered, apparently had someone out to it a few weeks ago to repair and started playing up, had a look advised it needs replacing.
  8. meeting a customer later after hes finished work, he has an SL8 can find old user manual and no installation manual and for newer system I can see response SL8 installation manual so have downloaded that. It could be either he wasn't sure anyone have an engineers manual for the old one and a user manual for the new one as cant find these at present.
  9. not had any issues with the risco cloud for a while now, whoops shouldn't have said that.
  10. Hi emailed Mark, and he confirms that the new app should allow the panels to programmed as com-ip which will mean you can send the the signals aswell. Cool be great to see al this in the new year.
  11. Hi Breff, so how is the com-ip configured on the panel as originally when the app was first introduced the com-ip was not used so wouldnt have been able to send the signals out over ip aswell as being connected to the app? may be had my head in the sand for way too long? (over a year since I even looked at the App) I have a 9.02 panel and for the app to work the com port for the com-ip was not used and and the mode of the com-ip module had to be changed as it crashed out. My understanding is wont need montex texbase to use with the new app, just be able to send directly to the app, my 9.02 panel works with the app with the limitations outlined and also with sending coms via ip, but not both.
  12. If the pir is picking you up, then its programed wrong if the entry starts and not going into alarm.
  13. Hi Adrian, originally the com-ip with the app didn't work on earlier panels without it programmed as not used and the settings of the ip module changed. This wouldnt allow you to program the the arc to send the messages out over ip and use the app? Or has this been addressed with App using Wintex protocol now rather than Simple protocol?
  14. If you youre still having problems you can pm me and see what we can sort out. may be able to access remotley via cloud with cpid and the cloud password do not publish these in public.
  15. Pyronix have suggested it be a new panel controllable by there app on android or apple later this quarter, but will get an alert when its available. They didnt give any indication to the sms control function being available in the UK panels at all.
  16. Targeted again by staysafemag this time, reported 3 now in since May This came across a little more professional than the last one, with a community approach, rather tha NHS and police approach like the last two, they sounded like they were from different people each time. Verified scam by action fraud Should be thankful they are finding me, just getting a little annoyed at the attempts being made to part me with my hard earned cash.
  17. Qualifications are only any good to say you have an understanding, doesn't make you any good at any job, even if the qualification is supposed to be relevant. I remember being told the villiage idiot would have 6 GCSE's before long, I know a few idiots with 1st class honours degrees, such is life.
  18. The only thing was the sdk which uploaded onto the comip module acting as a server and you accessed the pages, but that doesnt work for the new stuff apparently and only in internet explorer other that its get the nda signed off access to the simple protocol and creating your own program sat on the com ip module. Need to request from Texecom to start down that road. Duplicate butter fingers on the phone

  20. You need to be giving an idea of your budget in terms of pounds, you can buy rubbish, decent and superior systems and without a budget it is impossible to say what you can reasonably expect to get for your money and you may well get laughed at initially if your budget is low and your wanting top spec. The advice has been clear on what you need to setup your systems in general terms, without an idea of budget it will be difficult to say more specifically. Secondly you may have to pay more at a supplier that sells to the general public, from this thread you will be aware that some wholesalers/ distributors will sell anything to anyone and others will not, those that sell to the general public may have an account price for trades people and a list price for the general public. You are not going to get a Rolls Royce, if your paying Dacia prices? Both will get you from a to b but one is considerabbly better than the other and if you walked into a showroom and asked for a car, you would get asked some questions to narrow down your choices, budget being one of them.
  21. At default all veritas panels have the engineer and master user. Master User can add extra Users (R8+/Excel/Digitas only) Engineer can add extra engineers (R8+/Excel/Digitas only) You can't do Engineers from Master user and User codes from engineers. You can lock the Engineers Code only on the Veritas and nothing else. The panels that are not 00 you are able to determine the soure of the tampers in the User and Engineer modes, via event log or the test menus on the Prog version of the panels some allowed engineer only to id the tamper and others allowed the master user. Lets face it theres only a few places the tamper can be coming from, and go through the basics and isolate possible sources if you cant access the diagnostics on the panel itself. All this is very well documented in the Master user and Engineers manuals.
  22. Well some has to be to balance things out ?
