  1. Told on site approximate cost unless they have some strange setup, then back to office to check and emailed over (if they have email if not pigeon post).
  2. Or where to shove his resistor lol
  3. Domestic, 9651-43 or Elite range Commercial & anything else. Elite range mainly or Honeywell if needed. (I find the G2-G3 series a bit dated but very easy to work with and no one likes the flex for some reason ) Wireless, Elite range or Enforcer (the Pyronix wireless is super easy to work with)
  4. No it always worked perfect on win 7, but the last time I had it installed they said win 8 was not supported. I will give them a bell later.
  5. Anyone know if we can run remote manager on windows 8.1 yet for webwayone? The machine I had it on has now been updated, so if not I will have to dig out an old lappy with win 7 on.
  6. I'm not sure i understand, but just wire cam direct into monitor/tv
  7. Could not agree more, but how to wire the device to your chosen panel are in the manuals for both products
  8. IP cams sprayed black
  9. The electrical game looks rosy from the outside to others. What's the VAT got to do with it? The fire & security sector has its fair share of rogues and poor standards just like the electrical. Why are you going back to collage when we have amendment to 7671?
  10. It must of taken longer to get them all flat & inline than it would to shorten/JB the cable. The mind boggles
  11. If its there equipment, they can do what they like.
  12. Humm.. the first line said you know what your doing then the rest says you don't lol As said new control panel PCB and eng for the day would have been half the cost.
  13. So the new Digiair's now have udl. Can the older ones now do udl or be remotely upgraded to allow udl. I'm thinking they are new units altogether and the older ones can't do udl, anyone know.
  14. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat5e Half way down page... Your max run (for data) should be 90M It looks like 0.577 amps per core & 125V DC max
  15. Have they?Don't forget to email me over that info I pm for
  16. If it does not lock your panel.I have a GSM-com thing on my home system with a Vodafone sim & data number, have tried on many occasions but never been able to connect remotely.
  17. I wonder what he went for? & did he get good service.
  18. Mains smoke alarms run on mains and if the mains is lost then the battery should take over. Battery only models should have two battery supply's for the sounder part. One primary battery for normal day to day and a secondary battery should the primary battery fail. Not to be confused with standard battery operated smoke alarms. I don't know to any domestic primary & secondary battery powered smoke alarms, unless someone has a web link. 90% of my domestic customers always say no when I offer to install some smoke alarms. They always say "We have a battery one there" we normal look to find no smoke alarm on the ceiling as its in the kitchen drawer because the toaster keeps setting it off (should be heat detector in the kitchens).
  19. The top & bottom of it is your sounder circuit would need to be fire rated cable/connections. There is a list of things that don't conform to BS 5839-6.when using an intruder alarm as your fire alarm. But you should look at that £300 as money very well spent when (i hope it never happens to you) you and your family are out of the house safely as the fire brigade are trying to contain the fire !!! Its nothing to do with testing, as you should test all fire alarm/smoke alarms regularly.
  20. You should be able to pickup some mains off local lighting? and then use the wireless range. When the electrician rewired, did he not mention/recommend interlinked smoke alarms? http://www.aico.co.uk/ There are other brands. They even do a relay for linking to your intruder system if people require.
