  2. Ive been asked for this a few times over the years, why on earth would you want to silence the alarm remotely.

    Powerline Issues

Customer of mine is having issues using wifi in his office, very basic office, he wants me to run a cable around the outside of the building from router to office. Take it i'd be ok using TP links, if so, will the 200 one be ok, or should i fit the 500. AFAIK the 500 is for streaming HD and the 200 would be fine for emails ect...
  4. Spot on mate, running a business can take over your life, did mine, im changing that to. I dont do weekends, never have. (other than the odd call out) One big plus i have is no email to phone, once office comp is off, thats it.
  5. Can of smoke and a decibel app?
  6. I look after a fair few ade's that are ancient, still dont like them
  7. For a modern ish type panel, id deffo go with the sterling 10, had a mind of its own. ADE not far behind them though.
  8. External grade cat 5 to everything, have done for years.
  9. I was thinking of testing 50 HKC's.
  10. if cloud is enabled, i cant get voice to dial out, even though call to all FM is Y. got a couple of devices not always reporting to panel. UDL is very slow, only half or less of the programming is available on udl, how ***** is that. You have to come out of engineer mode to do udl. Camera image is poor. PIR are mounted to low, should have had adjustable tilt on camera, ive heard that is being look at, should have been there at the start. Cloud gone down. Images slow to go just after alarm. When using cloud on-line, or three details - username, password and code have to be entered everytime. Assembling the detector seemed ***** to me. This place has the foil lined insulation boards which isnt brilliant, but i can put up with moving panel around. GSM signal was pants, installed high gain aerial, original orange sim didnt have the coverage, vodaphone sim sorted that. I'll add more when i remember them.
  11. PM me your number and i'll give a bell in the morning, ive spoke to tech, for what its worth, sound lads just having to support ****. also cloud went down last weekend and as they said today 'they've spent millions on the servers' ripped off there then. as me and the client said, what happened to their back-up plan. My client is well pissed off, it quite clearly does not do what it says on the tin, ive spent hours trying to sort it, some things are just how wireless is, GSM signal strength, gsm provider ect..., that i can put up with, client being a funny fooker, i can just about live with, but 'the risco way' does my box right in, thats why i stop using them, wish i had left it that way. As i said to the client to day, the concept is good, just needs castle or tex or another main player to sort it out. Yale would have a better go at it. well maybe not, lol
  12. All i can say is fook right off (in the nicest way mate) Ive got a grands worth of kit just about to ripped out and skipped, me and the customer are well fooked off. Their latest top of the range kit, but its just the same risco *****, not thought out enough. The concept is good, but the manual, the kit, the app, the online access, the UDL is absolutley fooking shocking. Appologies for the language in public BUT it needs to be pointed out what kack it is.
  13. Or non approved if someone recommends them.
  14. 2 way is a plus. Just the right amount of programming, most wireless kit has a load of BS in it that is just not needed. Looks smart (as they go anyway). Reliable. YOU GET A MANUAL WITH IT, big plus. THe enforcer comes with 2 types of door contacts, use the mini one. The detectors are slightly to big to be honest, but have a white gloss casing and blue LED so look smart. Im not a fan scantronic, not used there wireless, just dont fancy it. I agree with james with having it all in one box, im looking at seperate keypad systems at the minute, but for the price and if they end up adding pre-alarm, will be a decent kit for the all-in-one market. If you get a quote on the ricochet stuff, ensure the installer can fully understand it and support it (ive just had right mare on a site). Stay away from anything risco, agility 3 being a complete sack of you know what. Ive had no issue with galaxy wireless, but i dont look after a lot, but as stated, just 1 way.
  15. Nice one Harry. I have yet again been thinking about it, i reckon its the wrong time, i'll be keen to see how you get on. All the best mate.
  16. ...im waiting for the incredible hulk jokes.
  17. Good luck mate, but you're guaranteed not to be knocked back. Worse bit of advice i ever followed was signing up to the data comm. bleeding vultures.
  18. Cool, thanks for that. Would you on metro housings though.
  19. anyone using rain x as standard on cctv systems? Just for domes or all cams?
  20. I was told the the radio transmission signal strength was quite high on the pyronix detectors, hence why the batteries are still around the 2 year life, even though they are in sleep mode when system is unset, as opposed to risco's that only go sleep for 2 minutes. I would of thought overall in the grand scheme of things, led's activating a couple of times a year on a two year life battery, wont make a noticable difference to battery life.
  21. if leds are only on during walk test, i shouldnt think its going to make much difference.
  22. As i said mate, dont know another way to put it. If clients knew if all comms where gone for what ever reason, that no one would know about it for hours - im sure they wouldnt be to happy, especially with todays technology. I understand to poll every system, every few seconds, (1000's) of them, is a big undertaking, but 5 hrs or more is taking the you know what. I'll admit, i never knew until this thread.
