  1. Where are you buying samsung from?
  2. +1 to Rob, I've been wanting to find out the above for a while now.
  3. You can't use a wireless extender as the phone line is monitored, the extender might be able to provide 50v at the panel, but what if the actual telephone line goes down??, it won't be monitored. Virgin and bt will always put the master socket where it is easiest for them. There all tw@ts, just like sky and all the others. At first, i agreed with norman, but then also not sure why they want to puta new 'box' in and charge 1000. They could run a new cable to the master socket and bill you for that. Might be a case of having your pants down. Telecoms chap is probably the way to go, although i'd of fooked off the virgin engineer andtold them were to shove it.

Ok James. We must work in the same area?
  5. SWB, stop winding Dom up. Dom, if you lie the detector on your wrist, the pir LED will flash with your pulse.
  6. Spot on mate, running a business can take over your life, did mine, im changing that to. I dont do weekends, never have. (other than the odd call out) One big plus i have is no email to phone, once office comp is off, thats it.
  7. I was told the the radio transmission signal strength was quite high on the pyronix detectors, hence why the batteries are still around the 2 year life, even though they are in sleep mode when system is unset, as opposed to risco's that only go sleep for 2 minutes. I would of thought overall in the grand scheme of things, led's activating a couple of times a year on a two year life battery, wont make a noticable difference to battery life.
  8. if leds are only on during walk test, i shouldnt think its going to make much difference.
  9. As i said mate, dont know another way to put it. If clients knew if all comms where gone for what ever reason, that no one would know about it for hours - im sure they wouldnt be to happy, especially with todays technology. I understand to poll every system, every few seconds, (1000's) of them, is a big undertaking, but 5 hrs or more is taking the you know what. I'll admit, i never knew until this thread.
  10. Its shocking, i cant believe the reg makers think this is ok. I reckon a lot of clients would be well pissed if they knew.
  11. i'll have a look in my set tomorrow morning
  12. screwfix (and others) anti tamper screwdriver sets, i have 2 in me van, always undone anything ive come across http://www.screwfix.com/p/security-bit-set-75mm-32-pieces/71249
  13. winrar still confused, i tried a few ways, wont have.
  14. says its either unknown file or corrupt
  15. i got online RKP working no probs but nothing else. If they have got the other software apps working, zone resistance, for example, i cant see why we need to be java guru's to get it working
  16. as above, you need their java app for online rkp. they have others but you need to know java to get em going
  17. unless its a square i know you like poor jokes paul
  18. get a new firm in, what area you in
  19. To incorperate other stuff into the alarm system, i agree with, automation, touch screen rkp displaying cctv images, diary / email ect... , intergration as you mention, to use mobile to control panel BUT face **** - one step to far. To think the security industry is lagging behind because it dosent incorperate that *****, makes you a nutter
