I was told the the radio transmission signal strength was quite high on the pyronix detectors, hence why the batteries are still around the 2 year life, even though they are in sleep mode when system is unset, as opposed to risco's that only go sleep for 2 minutes. I would of thought overall in the grand scheme of things, led's activating a couple of times a year on a two year life battery, wont make a noticable difference to battery life.

if leds are only on during walk test, i shouldnt think its going to make much difference.

As i said mate, dont know another way to put it. If clients knew if all comms where gone for what ever reason, that no one would know about it for hours - im sure they wouldnt be to happy, especially with todays technology. I understand to poll every system, every few seconds, (1000's) of them, is a big undertaking, but 5 hrs or more is taking the you know what. I'll admit, i never knew until this thread.

i got online RKP working no probs but nothing else. If they have got the other software apps working, zone resistance, for example, i cant see why we need to be java guru's to get it working

as above, you need their java app for online rkp. they have others but you need to know java to get em going

To incorperate other stuff into the alarm system, i agree with, automation, touch screen rkp displaying cctv images, diary / email ect... , intergration as you mention, to use mobile to control panel BUT face **** - one step to far. To think the security industry is lagging behind because it dosent incorperate that *****, makes you a nutter

I was in ERF today and in walked a squires 'eng' he looked about 13 and was no higher than my tit and his mate sat in the van looked about 12. Nothing against trainees but if them 2 turned up at my house to service or fault find i wouldnt be to happy. Id have to ask why they wernt at school. I thought trainees were put with an elder.

They are absolute kack at fire alarms and the would best leaving them alone. Dont think ive come across one of there intruder installs so cant comment. A couple of customers of mine are not happy with them, they say they're not as good as they were.
