Conflicting messages re Impaq Plus with Elite 24

That is just the threshold at which the panel can measure resistances. The threshold for different zone status depends on which "Zone Wiring" option you select. 4k7/4k7 was added to mimic those control panels like Aritech, so they where not designed to read any random values, only mimic other panels. This means the thresholds are different for each setting the most flexible and reliable setting is the Texecom ones which have been designed to support multiple shunts on one circuit. A more likely solution would be to tape a 6 or 8 core to the existing cable and pull it through having two cables to ones device is a bit unorthodox. You could just fit the shock plus contact elsewhere and use a normal contact, or not use the shock part at all. If you have only 1 zone spare on the panel then you are mapping 2 keypad zones to 2 panel zones with wiring, as I said above this will conflict. -

I would hope most here don't need a reference to resistors in parallel and series... Mr. H is giving you a subtle hint that you can make a 2k3 resistor from 2x 4k7 resistors to diagnose the issue. While there is a possibility 4k7/4k7 mode "could" work short term, if both detectors where active at the same time the 14k1 could be detected as a tamper which would be less than ideal, see below for correct way to solve this. You can program the panel to detect different resistor values but they only support one shunt and one EOL if you use anything other than Texe values. It needs to be wired like the manual (Section marked as > Zone Connections - EOL - 2 Normally Closed Devices) TBH I fail to see the point of using a shock with contact on a front door that's part of the entry route. If you want to use the panel zones I would suggest you don't map the keypad to them anything wired into them may conflict. You will need to leave engineers menu to "save" the mapping and zone type changes. I suggest using say zones 23 24 I believe there was some python code kicking around on github that works with the ComIP module, I doubt the SmartCom is supported but I haven't tested it. -

Needs wiring properly with the correct resistors programmed as Double Pole/EOL.It will never work wired like that. New Systems come with a bag of resistors. Has the keypad zone actually been mapped to a panel zone and programmed correctly? Spring on the lid may need a little tweak but I wouldn't expect a solid click with a spring and tactile button. TAP SMS is pretty dead and unreliable maybe best using your RPi to send an email or the like. Bear in mind comms like this are considered for low risk applications as the link isn't polled. If using a SmartCom then this supports Push notifications to phones. I wouldn't recommend using an alarm to "switch on" the cameras either it's just asking for a FTO. -
Sudden false alarms across numerous zones

No the company is based in San Jose. While we mainly deal with UK stuff we do get questions from all over the world. -

Faults like this you need to break down to locate. Test the controls first voltages, batteries on and off mains, charging circuit, everything you would check on a service, look for instability or incorrect values. Then check the cabling and terminals both ends and as far as you can access, look for issues with resistance and tightness, ingress of water, damage to outer sheath. Compare with your as fitted documents. After this you need to consider if it's a device, you could do this by removing it and leave the cable active or swapping known good devices around. -
Texe have had one for ages. Needs perimeter IMO.

Well all those DT's are wired. I don't use Pyronix but wireless DT's are pretty rare, not all manufacturers have them.

Something is wrong if you have hard drives that make noise louder than ambient. SSD would not be recommended at all. There are 4 way DVR's out there with passive cooling never seen an NVR tho due to the PoE and anything bigger would normally have a fan. NVR/DVR fans are normally the small noisy type so you could go custom and replace the fan for a better one using the fan header.

DT isn't going to solve the issue if it's heat or a door in the way.
-
So your wiring it?

May just be me but I'd much prefer a Veritas over a Gardtic 816. OTOH I don't agree with having the customer select the panel and fit LED from new. They have called an engineer out for advice but want you to fit LED against your advice, rings alarm bells (excuse the pun).
-
I see no issue with LED panels, in fact for a DIYer they are more likely to come with basic instructions and have success at a working system. Saying that I personally wouldn't fit one any more for the extra cost it's worth it for "full panel" features, like EOL or a decent sized event log.

Type B would be over the top for domestic. A minimum standard needs to be reasonably attainable to be effective.

Lets all work for nothing, it may catch on.

Fireangel have had a massive amount of battery failures within a couple of years from there 10 year ones. Fire brigade stopped fitting them for a while as one caught fire in Hull somewhere I believe? Replaced a good few with Aico 10 year ones for people.

That is the screen displayed when a keypad has power but no data.
-
As above you can try a new battery and power cycle it. However, if you don't test the controls and there is a fault it will wreck the battery and become unreliable again

Sounds ridiculous but they make lamps out of all sorts of old tat.

We thought you'd both been taken, for a while. -
They lockout when they are not looked after. I would suggest you get someone out to see if can be serviced, new battery and re programmed for your needs. Alarms need regular maintenance to be reliable.

Depends on what your tampering with

In short, the guy that started Texecom sold it to Halma around 2005, he left a year or so after the sale. He was part of Orisec starting up around 2013. -

If you know the history of the companies you'll know why they are near to each other. I have no idea about what allegedly happened on twitter tho. -
Who said it was a door contact? Opening the device is the obvious solution. I did say most, that said you still have to carry a stupid array of batteries as an engineer, I am not going to list them all.
