  1. Each camera should have its own IP assuming that you have assigned them
  2. chaps read the rules dont post defaulting info in public!!!
  3. How queer! I do that too You know I live in Brighton right? And you are very nice when your not sober,
  4. LOL This site has been going since 2003, and some of us have been around all that time. There are many regular members that participate and we all try to help each other out. There is a fair bit of banter, at the end of the day we all work in the security industry so the banter will always be there put up with that and you will find this site more use than you will have ever imagined. I personally have made some good friends, and met one of my best friends through this site. We have Standards experts, CCTV experts, Intruder experts, Fire experts, and Access control experts, and there is always someone on here that has the answer to the question you have not needed to ask yet, even if that answer is not what you wanted to hear. To get the best from this site participation is the key, sharing knowledge with like minded people is to the benefit of all. The trade section is blocked from the public area for obvious reasons, there is information in trade on the workings of security systems. In the public area there is mostly DIY info, and nothing that could help any burglars. If you can put up with the banter (Like ADI's post above) and stick around you will find this site most useful
  5. Its normally all there in the paperwork, specifications are ten pages long without the kit list. At the end of the about efficacy, if the system doesnt work the insurance company will come after the installer. Once the contract is cancelled the customer can do what they like with the system as the responsibility is no longer with the service provider, but at the same time you cant expect the SP to come and default the reset settings for nothing.
  6. Polling would be when the signalling equipment sends a regular signal to the ARC so a polling fault is when the signalling equipment fails to send the polling signal
  7. CCTV used on your property will be exempt from the Data Protection Act unless you are capturing footage of individuals outside your property. However, regardless of whether your CCTV system is exempt, the ICO recommends that you use CCTV in a responsible way to protect the privacy of others. What if my camera captures footage of individuals beyond the boundaries of my property? You must consider whether it is necessary for your camera to operate beyond the boundary of your property. If your camera covers, even partially, any areas beyond the boundaries of your property, such as neighbouring gardens or the street, then it will no longer be exempt from the Data Protection Act (DPA) under the domestic purposes exemption. This does not mean that you are breaching the DPA but it does mean that you might need to take some steps to comply with it.
  8. If its a pain in the bum then your doing it wrong, or youve chose the wrong career. Welcome
  9. Hi and welcome!
  10. The Chinese one does but its ugly as fook http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-WiFi-Remote-Video-Door-Bell-Phone-Rainproof-Doorbell-Home-Security-UK-/252036309805?hash=item3aae88e32d:g:c-oAAOSw9N1Vpw6F
  11. I purchased one of these but it didnt work that well for me so I sent it back, I then purchased the Chinese version that worked much better for a while, then stopped. I put a wifi amp close to the doorbell and its been fine ever since, I think the Ring would have worked better with the amp too.
  12. Some of them mean fields per second not frames 25 frames is realtime. Women and Germans are impressed by big numbers so thats why manufacturers like to put high numbers on stuff
  13. Hi and welcome
  14. Hi and welcome
  15. We have motion detect on with 5 fps with pre motion and 8 on full motion, the recorder is recording all the time but saves 10 secs pre motion @5fps and then jumps to 8fps
  16. They dont quite work the same as Galaxy, all keypads make the arm/disarm noises regardless of the area.
  17. But you paid for a security system and you were happy with the volume when it was installed, it wasnt the installer fault you had a baby. You could ask the installer to change the engineer to a default code. However, I would advice against meddling with the programming of your system, the programming is a large part of what you paid for when you had the system installed. It isnt that hard for a trained engineer to coc up the programming, and so you may end up paying two callouts one to default the code the other to program the system again
  18. The installer is the only one who knows it, its unlikely he will tell you what it is as it will leave all the ret of his customers vulnerable, if you want tro reduce the noise on the cheap tape a cushion over the speaker
  19. We have been using the 1070 for over two years now and would say it spot on, areas are a bit dodgy apart from that its a great bit of kit
  20. apparently so P50 readers I am guessing though
  21. I always thought that, but its a different story when you get there. I have been lucky enough to see this industry from three sides, an Indian, a Squaw, and a Chief, and being a Chief is no different from being an Indian apart from the problems and misery is ten fold. But.....should I survive to retirement Ill have more funds than most , but knowing my luck by then someone will have invented a paint that disperses burglars and my co will be worth nothing.
