  1. yes but more looking for a mobile one without using the cells

Thinking of changing one of our landlines to O2 to do away with our gateway and the price i have been quoted isnt that bad for 2000mins and includes free calls to o2 which are company mobiles.

We use our gateway more for outgoing as its got unlimited calls

Just thought does anybody do a unlimited landline tariff like the mobiles do ?

  2. Dont know about others, but most of our systems are on UDL with RSS and most of the automated stuff is carried out out night, one in a million but if a breakin was to occur whilst carrying out a remote service and a system didnt signal where the liability going.

    A) Installer for connection to a system

    b) Comms device

Going to test our preferred comms tomorrow.

depends how its progd, good practice is unset only with customer permission but a thread a while back where someone dialled into a set system and fck it up leaving the site with no alarm and had to call the keyholder out

Ours site starts the dial out, but the automated service the panel initials the call and the record at our end if the system is set, is locked so changes cant be made.

  3. iirc beams at still under bs not en yet under pd. The argument is a g3 device needs rear tamper and i dont know of one with a back tamper. Ade is better on regs in his head than me, id need to look at current pd

    Optex have rear tampers

I was under the assumption there wasnt any graded beams available

Must be G3 as you cant mask them

  4.

I knew nothing about linux until this weekend -

Just wait....... the bug will strike then you will be running unbuntu and WINE next.

Don't be tempted by cheap CISCO castoff VOIPs by the way, apparently they are very proprietary and they charge more than

the phone is worth for firmware download access.. That's just what I've read though.

Yep correct a bit of a pain at first, i like the phones and have three running well and they are well made

    Polycom is very good stuff.

  5. Been looking at 3cx but wondering if our current hardware would run windows good enough, i have seen desktop pcs with less, currently running freepbx on a supermicro intel atom dualcore (server grade) but when i have used windows on atoms at customers its a bit sluggish.

Also looked at Elastix and PBX in a flash,  asterisk now.

  6. Not really, but we used Trixbox 12 years ago and watched it develop then it became a commercial product only even though they said it wouldnt, freepbx seams to be going the same way with the modules since Sangoma bought them, i might be wrong though.

  7. No Just the consumer one, this one EW-7416APn think it was about £40 when i bough it, bought the newer one for the office and thats great.

Loads of different modes you can configure it as anything you want.

  8. I had a problem with wifi spoke to an IT guy and he suggested turn the wifi on the router off and get a Edimax access point, works great all round the house and even 200 yrds up the road.

Used the same on jobs with flat panel aerials from building to building

Apparently edimax are the biggest makers of wifi stuff.
