Bet your panel doesn't last long, replaced so many in the loft due to the changes in temperature.

dont know the actual reg, we terminate as soon as it comes in to the building, Duct grade is polyurethane covered which isnt low smoke so i suppose its right.

Can't say I care for the heat, but I'd assume somewhere thats just been shot up is probably a much safer place than somewhere that hasnt ?

my thinking was it would reduce the chance of a false alarm particularly when away from home for an extended period of time.
TBH if its installed right and good equipment used then you should not have any false alarms.
