Hi,
My ancient Accenta8 alarm panel has given up and I plan to replace it with a Texecom Premier Elite 24. I have swapped all the original PIRs for Honeywell IS312 as I decorated each room. Are PIRs basically standard and compatible with most alarms or do I need to replace the PIRs if I install the Texecom panel?
Thanks
Chris
You don't have to unless they give you trouble , although it's probably more of DIY product now with it's problems
Just wire them double pole or correct resistors in place latter best way to go

I wonder what the traffic lights are all about.
Never had you down as a Habitat shopper, always imagined you shopping in Morrisons
Chatgpt makes things up maybe
Red intruder activation
White pulsing deterrent light at night or when set
Yellow indicator for fault
What you think ? Chatblag?

Hi All,
Bit of a compliance question here...
We have been asked to fit Honeywell SC100 seismic sensors on a G3 system however the SC100's dont seem to bear any security grading. I know these are used industry wide and they are "the right" bits of kit for the job but how can they be fitted on a graded system without affecting the overall system grading?
I would have thought they have some other kind of certification as opposed to stating they are grade 2/3

Customer insists on having phone calls to a list of numbers rather than the DIGI-WIFI as he says he doesn’t keep his mobile with him to get the app notifications. We’re talking an old stuck in his ways elderly man you know the type “Why does it have to be changed it’s all BT’s fault they should just leave the landline on PSTN blah blah blah”
As swb then but then he probably has no monthly contract either?

An update to this topic for anyone reading it
Scantronic SD-LTE Universal 4G Speech Dialler
This is what I have proposed to the customer if they want calls to mobiles and landlines when there is an alarm activation
Your mad , that cost as much as v11 enforcer ? Which can handle an app, just saying as you says calls , which are pointless and slower

Hello,
I seem te be having a similar problem,
yesterday my alarm started displaying the same issue. Only it had been working perfectly for the past 5-6 years.
The problem now seems that my installer seems to have gone out of business and nobody want to touch this old thing.
I'm capable of doing a reboot (disconnect mains and battery) myself but am wondering if this wil have any influence on the problem.Regards Stijn
So what panel is it, as you said old

I have a stand alone KP500 only attached to an electric strike lock
the com NC
the key pad is giving the lock power, locking it
i have programmed it, with fobs and a code
when i swipe the fob or enter the code , the keypad flashes green and accepts it however the power does not drop for the lock
the lock will of course open it I take the power off manually taking a cable out
Guessing myself
Right led flashes?
What's left led doing ? Red or green
Is it in secure or insecure mode , as I thought one mode requires both fob and code in some sequence

Im surprised that Pyronix didnt recommend the above as an option, I say surprised but Im not
But you still need SIM card?

Thanks mate. He’s using the app but doesn’t keep his mobile with him most of the time. Pyronix say I can enable an ARC to receive alerts via the DIGI-WIFI and then they would call him
What do you think?
Does that app itself allow SMS? I assume it's a free service he is using ?
If your going to pay for an extra SIM with that many alerts it's pointless, cheaper to get better monitoring and have that included

Pyronix Enforcer (unknown model V10 or V11) until I visit site
Customer wants to know if it can dial out to various numbers when there is an alarm activation like it used to do before BT moved his landline for the BT Hub onto digital
If you have any products you recommend I would be keen to have a look thank you
Needs upgrade to app etc, in short no

The problem as I see it lots of people think this industry is easier than it is, the chap that came today couldnt even wire a 3 pin plug but thought he could become an alarm engineer, it would take a lot lot longer with him than a person with some basic knowledge, as you have teach the basics first.
On the other side of the coin engineers think its much harder than it is. They seem to think that it takes years of experience to do their job. Yet many competent diyers can install a half decent system (not as good as a pro but a working system).
I reckon that it is possible to teach someone with a tech background to do this job in 3 or four months. Yes experience makes you better at what you do, especially so with breakdowns, but the minimum requirements is all thats required for servicing and to go on call.
Experience counts
I like your guys access control techniques no door is a problem as such good jobs

Hi,
I’ve got a Risco Agility (not the Agility 3 it’s just the original one) RW132KP.
I’ve got 3 RWT92P’s and 1 RWT72i.
the alarm in question is in a shed type thing where we do construction stuff, I’ve also got one in my house with the same bundle and haven’t had any issues!
how to I fix the problem of the RWT72i draining through battery’s and getting hot? When I say drawing through fast I mean like in a couple of hours!
please help!
(The installer company is Sky Security Solutions Ltd.)
Change contact?

Hello Everyone,
After a very long renovation and subsequent complete rewiring of the alarm system, I have returned to activating the lightsys alarm.
Unfortunately, however, some door opening detection sensors, connected via radio, continuously give the tamper alarm.
In particular, 3 sensors out of 9 have this problem.
What could have happened?
I have already changed all the battery.
Thanks for your availability.
Best regards

Bell delay? Or something?

120 V. Presumably that's RMS , because peak voltage is nearly 250 to 300 V. This is the waveform on a scope.
Anyway I had a stroke of luck. My old sounder has the exact same piezo transducer so I'm going to use that. Hopefully it's the same voltage, but it looks totally identical. The HKC sounder is taking nearly 200 mA when sounding after I replaced the piezo element, which tallies with the 250 mA peak they give in the spec.
Didn't realise it was old bell , bin it now

your document appears to have a requirement for the installation work to be undertaken by an electrical contractor with nic eic or similar ?
