  1. I got some cheap 12core from eBay to, but it's was good cable , cheap 8core is a problem when stapling as it's outer sheath is a bit loose , switched to cqr instead

Hang on a minute!!! don't tell me you bought multicore stage cable ie for mics etc and used it on a gig I mean alarm install?

Come on man , you trying to copy h , you can never do it , plus I in que!

  2. You marked zone 1 as kitchen door and front door , perhaps that's what he meant by dropping one off that

And you mentioned two keypads one in kitchen and one in porch , some keypads have a zone available onboard texecom I think so you could run off those instead of cabling back

  3. The current panel I think is a basic Texacom (?)

There are NO magnetics on any of the external doors, just a few internal PIRs.

I might consider glass break etc, and possibly the speech dialler at a later date, this is why I'm considering a higher specification panel so I can extent/upgrade in the future....

Whilst I'm no expert installer I just want to be sure that I can set-up a Galaxy panel in the typical residential configuration (doors and PIR's only)

    thanks

Read up on eol wiring , and perhaps get a galaxy g2-20 with cp38 prox keypad, as said above cheap to buy and will give you more upgrade options if you decide you need to

  4. If companies advertise they are insurance approved , it means all there installs should meet the requirements of having a certificate , urn or not, so a piece of paper to certify every install shouldn't matter

I assume inspectors can select any install to check if they wanted ?
