  1. Some 'engineers/technicians/electricians' are multi disciplined to accommodate individual customer requirements, this isn't necessarily a flaw in good practice, More like making good use of excellent employees.
  2. Oh dear.........I really need to get out more tbh...
  3. Did my apprenticeship around that area, refrigeration not the sh!t I do now!, Did a few jobs at the Black Country Museum, brilliant place.

  8. Thats just the point by your very admission, you've never tried it, some people do, and they look to the likes of our forums to give them help as best we can, whats the point of a public help forum if we don't offer help to the public?.

  11. Speaker works on millivolts, and connects to speaker terminals, sound bomb and sounders work on 12 volts and connect to 12 volts, mix the two and it tends to hurt the main panel unfortunately.
  12. One assumed, from his OP, that he had an R8+ not an R8, as he stated he'd taken +ve and -ve from the communicator interface.
  13. Connect output three (intruder) on the communicator to input three(usually used for intruder) on the dialler.
  14. No, his exact words on our yearly office based assessment to me, our QS, and my coleague, 'How often should your meters be calibrated', my mate said yearly, he said no, etc until I said no requirement, that's when he gave the speal as I mentioned above, as my previous though, and hearing others comments, I do it every year to be sure-does beg the question though, do even the assessors really know their stuff?, or is it just pay us the money or you won't be in our club?.
  15. Not according to my NICEIC assessor a couple of months ago, he said as long as it was tested regularly against a known socket etc, and readings didn't obviously fluctuate, then that was a good enough check to say the calibration was still valid-though I'm a bit wary of the ramifications if somat occured etc, I'll still get it done yearly to save any problems tbh.
  16. For me it was the horrible flow chart thing for progging that was a pain, until you got used to it.
  17. The three LEDs are for you to choose which set you wish to alter, ie led 1 is full set, 2 is part set, 3 is night set etc, then you go in to alter zones etc within that set.
